Here's my reponse to a WR list on the bears board that had Cro thorpe ranked highly.
Can someone point to anything specific they like about Cro thorpe?
I mean the guy isn't even the number 1 reciever on the Nols. Chauncey Stovall is outperforming the Thorpe this year. he has 5 Td's to thorpes 1, same number of catches and more yards. thorpe was a big name out of HS, got playing tim and didn't do much to impressuntil last season when guess what happened. the 160 pound wlking twig broke his leg... who would've guessed. And this year he's hardly even in the game plan.
Thorpe has played in 9 games this year. guess how many times he's logged a 100 yard game?...
Answer: 0.
His best game this season was a 6 catch 84 0 td effort against lowly syracuse.
Whats worse when the ranked competition comes to town where is Thorpe?
UVA: 2 catches 39 yards
Miami: 5 catches 42 yards
Clemson: 4 catches 20 yards
You want to spend a 1rst day pick on this guy? why. He's on all the scouting sights because according to Ohil Steele he was the number 4 wr out of HS, he got the number 1 jersey as a phenom recruit and flat out doesn't play up to the hype.
Honestly, besides reading his name on NFLdraftcountdown...what the heck is so impressive about thorpe? his supposed 40 time? He's he gonna get off the line of scrimmage when he's gotta deal with Cb's like MCAllister who will simply take the 175 pound noodle, wrap him around his waist and use him as a hula hoop until the play is whisteld dead? The guy is a bust. he's All hype still floating around about his HS ranking and the guy doesn't back it up.
tell me where I'm going wrong.
Some guy responded and said his production is down because he's playing "tentatively" because of the injury...here was my response...
Anyways, how is it OK that he is playing "tentatively" should we add "scared of contact" to the laundry list of negatives about this guy besides size, durability, lack of prodcution, and more. Is is safe to say he won't be of any use over the middle because he'll be listening for footsteps.
Even if he does get back to normal, won't a NFL coach have to say, "What happens if he gets injured with us?". Will we have to wait a whole other year for him to stop being scared like Bowden has had to do this year? Plus we don't know if this tentativeness wil disapate AT ALL! We're just speculating he'll come around.
No thanks Crap-honso. I hope we pass on you, no matter what round it is.
i just don't get why this kid is supposedly so great.
