Red face

November 17
Current draft order after week 10

1. San Francisco- Antrel Rolle CB Miami (FL)
- I don't think the 49ers will be looking to take QB in the 1st round. Preferably I think they would like to go OT or D-Line in the 1st, but none are worth the top pick. It's a fight between the two best players in the draft, Rolle and Derrick Johnson. Even if Julian Peterson is not back next year (I think he will), the secondary looks to need more help. Rolle will start opposite Plummer, and maybe a possible move to free safety for Mike Rumph?

2. Miami- Matt Leinart QB USC
- So many holes, might as well fill the most important one. It has to be frustrating to know your 2nd round pick is going to a QB as well, but they already know Feeley isn't the answer. Seems like about a 50/50 split on Leinart and Aaron Rodgers as the top QB. Both have alright arm strength, good accuacy, and make smart decisions. But Leinart has the better size and I think think he has a little more athletic ability then Rodgers does. That gives him the slight edge.

3. Carolina- Derrick Johnson LB Texas
- From the Super Bowl back into the top 5. The Panthers would definitely like to go OT, but again none are worth the pick. They take the big time playmaker at LB, Derrick Johnson. Definitely not their biggest need, but to good to pass on. When all are healthy, would anyone have a better front 7 then the Panthers?

4. Tampa Bay- Mike Williams WR USC

- Maybe a bit of a surprise here after the Bucs took Clayton in the 1st round last year, but you can't pass on talent like this when your offense is as bad as the Bucs. Brown and Galloway won't be around long. They have their QB of the future in Simms, have their WR's in Clayton and now Williams, and will look for the RB later.

5. Tennessee- Jamaal Brown OT Oklahoma
- I still think this is a few spots to high for Brown, but the Titans really need to get some help on the O-line. Brown in my opinion can play either side at a high level, and it won't be to long before he takes over for Miller or Hopkins. Rodrique Wright was tempting, but with so many D-Lineman taken last year, they decide on offense this time around.

6. Dallas (from Buffalo)- Rodrique Wright DT Texas
- The Cowboys don't have much to play along side La Roi Glover. Maybe would have like a DE a bit more, but they can't pass up on Wright. Will form a very good tandem in the middle with Glover and hopefully help improve the run defense.

7. Washington- Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College
- The Skins look like they have a great FA signing in Griffin playing in the middle, but they have nothing on the outside. There isn't to many DE's in the NFL that have Kiwi's size, speed, and athletic ability. Needs to get a little stronger, and will need to have a little time to develop, but has scary potential.

8. Oakland- Cedric Benson RB Texas
- The Raiders would be very happy to see the options they have here getting to decide between RB, QB (Rodgers), and WR (Edwards). Norv Turner seems to always have a RB that can carry the load and Benson gives him that. I like Cadillac Williams more, but Benson is the back Turner can give the ball 25 times a game to.

9. Kansas City- Aaron Rodgers QB California
- The Chiefs need defensive help all over the place, but Rodgers is to good to pass on here. This will be a great place for Rodgers. Green is up there in years and won't be around for long. Let Rodgers sit behind Green for a year, build up some more muscle, and get stronger. Year 2 he'll be ready to take over.

10. Dallas- Marlin Jackson CB Michigan
- The Cowboys improved their front 4 a few picks earlier, and now look to help out the secondary. The Cowboys are very thin at CB after Newman. Even Newman hasn't been that great this year. Jackson may be playing better then any CB in the country the last month or so, and is really on the rise. Really considered his teammate Braylon Edwards here as well, but went with the bigger hole.

11. Cleveland- Alex Barron OT Florida State
- The Browns have one of the worst O-lines in the league and would jump at the chance to take Barron here. I think some are over rating Barron right now. He needs to improve both his footwork and strength. Not sure if he has the quickness to play LT, but at worst should be a solid RT.

12. Arizona- Cadillac Williams RB Auburn
- The Cardinals have all the WR's they need, and now it's time to add some youth to the RB corp. Cadillac has all the talent to be a special back. Doesn't have outstanding speed, but makes quick cuts, has great balance, and never goes down on the 1st hit.

13. New Orleans- Ahmad Brooks LB Virginia
- In a few years this may end up being one of the best picks in the 1st round. Brooks has the talent to be that good. I think he could excel any of the 3 LB spots. The McKenzie trade allows them to pass on CB here, and look to add some more help there later.

14. Chicago- Braylon Edwards WR Michigan
- The Bears would jump all over Edwards here. I wouldn't have thought for a second Edwards would fall out of the top 10 when I started this. But after the Bucs, I think they only teams that would really give thought to a WR would be the Raiders, Chiefs, and Cowboys, and I'm sure they would be very happy with what they got. Edwards just fell right into the Bears lap.

15. Houston- Antajj Hawthorne DT Wisconsin
- Another player that just happened to fall for no particular reason. Excellent value for the Texans, and a great fit for their 3-4 defense. He won't just take on blockers to free up the LB's, he'll make some big plays, especially in the backfield.

16. Detroit- Erasmus James DE Wisconsin
- Back to back Wisconsin D-Lineman off the board. DE may be the Lions biggest need, and they really need someone that can provide a pass rush. He has some injury history, but may have been the best D-Lineman in college football this year. He has completely dominated, and is very explosive off the line.

17. Cincinnati- Haloti Ngata DT Oregon
- The Bengals desperately need a run stuffer and Marvin Lewis gets his man in Ngata. He may be a bit of a gamble because of his knee, but has the talent to be very special. His combination of size, strength, and explosiveness is amazing.

18. Seattle- David Pollack DE Georgia
- The Seahawks grab some talent at DE as Okeafor may be gone next year. Pollack's atletic ability won't amaze you, but the guy never stops. Very similar in that area to the Seahawks own, Grant Wistrom.

19. St. Louis- Justin Miller CB Clemson
- The Rams have been thin at CB for a few years now, and they finally fill the spot and grab Miller. Miller doesn't have outstanding size, and he gambles a bit, but is a playmaker plain and simple. Also would be an excellent return man for the Rams as well if they wanted to use him there.

20. Green Bay- Andrew Walter QB Arizona State
- Seems like I've had them with a QB for the lst 2 years now, LOL. But I think this may be the year they finally look for the QB that will eventually take over for Favre. I think they may rather look at a FA like Brees, but for now I have to give them Walter. Walter isn't the most mobile guy in the world, but this guy has a rifle for a right arm.

21. Minnesota- Corey Webster CB LSU
- Would have loved to get Ngata here to replace Hovan and help the run D, but with him gone they look to Webster. Webster hasn't had the year most probably expected, but he hasn't been playing CB long and has the physical ability to be very good. The Vikings should be solid at CB with Webster and Winfield as starters for the next 5 years or so.

22. San Diego (from New York Giants)- Mark Clayton WR Oklahoma
- Keneen McCardell has been a nice trade for the Bolts, but they could still use some help there. Caldwell seems like he has improved, but he is injured an awful lot. Didn't expect Clayton to fall quite this far. Amazing quickness, and YAC ability from Clayton. If he was 3 inches taller he's probably a definite top 10 pick.

23. Denver- Heath Miller TE Virginia
- Just seems like the Broncos and Miller are made for each other. Miller can potentially be a top 5 TE in the NFL. Not only can Miller go downfield, he's a much better blocker then most the top TE's from the last few years.

24. San Diego- Mike Munoz OT Tennessee
- The Chargers fill one of their biggest holes and grab Munoz. In my opinion, Munoz may have played better hen any other OT in college football this year. But he has a few injury concerns and doesn't have amazing athltic ability.

25. New York Jets- Thomas Davis S Georgia
- The Jets would have liked to grab one of the top CB's, but with them off the board they grab Davis to help strengthen the secondary. Davis needs some work on his coverage skills, but is as good as it gets against the run. The guy hits like a LB.

26. Jacksonville- Dan Cody DE Oklahoma
- Defensive end is clearly the Jags biggest need. They are as thin there as you can get. Cody has more then proven this season he isn't just a guy that had alot of talent playing around him.

27. Indianapolis- Ronnie Brown RB Auburn
- I don't know how the Colts will be able to sign James. I would assume they much rather lock up Harrison long term. The Colts know they need a running game to have a chance and keep the offense at the same level, so they take James' replacement.

28. Baltimore- Chris Henry WR West Virginia
- Can the Ravens ever fill their hole at WR? They continue to try and grab Henry. Henry has to gain some strength, but has solid speed, very good size, and is a huge big play threat.

29. Atlanta- Orien Harris DT Miami (FL)
- Recently changing from the 3-4 to the 4-3 has left the Falcons thin along the D-Line. I think some over rate Harris a little right now. He has the potential, but he isn't there yet. His talent alone makes him a 1st rounder though.

30. New England- Marcus McNeil OT Auburn
- The Patriots don't have alot of needs, but the O-Line is probably where they could use the most help. McNeil could use some improvement on his foot work and quickness, but has outstanding strength and size. He can be a road grader at RT.

31. Philadelphia- Michael Boley LB Southern Mississippi
- A player with outstanding instincts but also has outstanding speed. There isn't to many plays that go by without Boley being near the ball. Jim Johnson could use this guy to cause havok in blitz packages.

32. Pittsburgh- Marcus Spears DE LSU
- The Steelers would be more then happy to grab Spears here and add some youth to their D-Line. Spears han't looked nearly as good this year as he did last year, but would be a great fit at DE for the Steelers and their 3-4 defense.

a lot of people seem to have us drafting D line while I can certainly see the concern given Kimo's age we brought in some guys this offseason and others have stepped it up. All of them are playing very well. Hoke, Kirschke, Kiesel, then there's still Eric Taylor on our practice squad. Usually we don't go high when picking guys for our front 7. I don't anticipate us doing it this year.

I agree. I don't believe we've picked a DE in the 1st round since Cowher has been here. Once in the 2nd with Jeremy Staat and I think we learned our lesson.

Why Shazor for GB...we have Sharper and Roman...wouldn't we be better suited to use that pick elsewhere??

If Scott or Whitworth are still there in the 2nd round by the time the Bears pick comes, I don't think that they'd let one of pass.
