Young is the biggest bust
This isnt meant to offend any Titan fan in any way, my sons Pee-Wee team is called the Titans so I root for them.Vince Young will be the next Akili Smith!
Vince faced the Buckeyes defense which put 4 players in the first round, and beat Ohio State but look at Youngs numbers.Average at best.If Troy Smith had played they probably loose. Now he comes to the NFL which is like going warp speed on defense.Forget about scrambling he is not elusive or fast enough and his side arm delivery will be big trouble when he is trying to throw on the run.McNair was heading down hill and the injuries were taking their toll so they did need a QB.Maybe they though Young was like McNair but the fact is 10 yrs from now McNair will still have a better arm than Young. No one makes mention of his tendency to fumble either.Bad time to remember when its game time. The good thing is that Billy Volek(who put up some good numbers when McNair was out) will help limp the team along when Young gets injured or yanked.

I am a huge Titans fan. And you are in no way offending me, in fact I tend to agree with you. I dont think he will be the likes of a Akili Smith however. Young has a lot of potential, but I wish we would have went with Leinart.

I think people make Young out to be more athletic than he is, tho I do think he can be a good QB with the right tutelage. IMO it all depends on how fast they play him. Also I think losing McNair wasnt a good thing for Young, he could have learned a lot from him

Yes now he has no one to learn from. And frankly he is learning Chow's system and Chow has already informed Young that he was not who he wanted. If they bring him along slow, then he might be ok. Chow has always had a pass first mentality so we will have to see when he takes over the starting job.

I think with time young could develope into a good passing QB, he just needs to respond to coaching better than he did in Texas.

He definitely could be far better than Lienart. Lienart will be beter early since he has real weapons all around him. VY has the great upside, but he has to learn to throw the short ball, and not rely on his legs to get him out of trouble.

Well i dont foresee lienert starting much this season. I do agree tho, i think lienert will have a better star but young in the long run will be a better overall qb
