Ive seen many sites saying that Antrel Rolle will be the most dynamic defensive player coming out in the draft. I've also seen some say that Derrick Johnson will be. What do yall think?

Johnson.

Consider the circumstances- the new enforcement of "Thr Rule." Shutdown corners around the league have had an off-year this season, arguably because of this rule. The League probably won't do much of anything to change it, and with Rolle being a more physical type of corner, I don't see him being any different from this season's C-mac, Bailey, etc.

Haven't seen either of them play much so that's just off a hunch....

CBs are never a sure thing (Champ Bailey gets burned too). Rules favor WRs too much nowadays.

Derrick Johnson is a man beast and will devour RBs for breakfast. His turnovers he has forced are probably rivaled by Dick Butkus. I know that's a huge comparison, but nobody causes turnovers like DJ. DJ has a long long way to go if he wants to be anywhere close to Butkus in his NFL career though.

Rolle had one good game that I saw last year (against FSU), and that was the last I heard of him.

and Dawgpoundbarker has a good point about the NFL rules.

If Johnson is put behind some huge DTs which allow him to not take on as many blockers and use his great range and speed to cover the field, then yea, hell be absolutely amazing. He can do it all.

But, Rolle is a real shutdown corner, he showed it against Pitt with Larry Fitzgerald. Will the chuck rule affect him? Yes, but I still think hell be a great corner in the NFL. He still has great size and can cover most WRs with ease.

If Johnson is put in a good system, then he will be the better pro, but Rolle could easily win that honor if his game translates well into the NFL, which I think it will.

Derrick Johnson could flat out be a difference maker in the right defense. I also have not been impressed with Rolle at times this year and have seen way to many CB's not pan out.

I would be much more happy with Johnson then Rolle but you never know.

a good pass rush / play making in the front 7 can even make the most mediocre CBs look great. a QB with all the time in the world and a good running game will leave any CB out to dry.
