Yeah they are the only ones to have been selected 1st over all, in fact very few WRs have been even made the top five. In the past 24 years only 7 (nine including Irvin and Fryar) have been top five selections, there are: Kenny Jackson, Desmond Howard, Micheal Westbrook, Peter Warrick, Charles Rogers, Larry Fitzgrerald, and Braylon Edwards.

between 1991-1997, only 1 QB was taken (Drew Bledsoe in 1993).
1991 the pick was Russell Maryland, 92 was Steve Emtman, 94 was Big Daddy Wilkinson, 95 was Carter, 96 was Keyshawn, 97 was Orlando Pace.

In fact from 1960 until 1989 only 9 QBs were taken (10 if you count Steve Young in the special USFL draft...) with the 1st pick (all quite good-Namath, Roman Gabriel, Bradshaw, Plunkett, Bartowski, Elway, Testaverde, and Aikman..and Terry Baker).
From 1990 until now...9 QBs, 7 of which have been since 1998...

I would trade down too if I had the number 1 pick...why saddle myself with a big contract for guy who has never played a down of college football?

Trade down to about 5 or so, try to trade down again and accumulate picks.

LT, he is in the top 3 of (IMO) the most coveted position in FB. Plus he is the most versitile player in the NFL, he can run the ball, catch it, return it if need be. I bet he could even throw it now and then.

Vick is good but, he isnt a pure QB, he thinks run first, that's not what a QB should do. If you can contian Vick you have him beat. LT can't be contianed, he WILL find a way to hurt you.
