i think both 1999 and 2001 had awesome drafts thats when the huge people came in and thats why the NFL is like what it is today because most of those players were sophmores and juniors and they came up because they were so good

There is an extremly easy way to settle this and I'll tell you the answer:
The best draft class was last years (2005), it is way better than the 01 draft.
Wha? No, all those those stars in 01 out rank the 05? But here is my logic, the best way to mesure success in the NFL is contribution. You might not like this rationale but listen to this:
Of the 246 draftees in 2001, 127 are no longer in football. that represents a 51.6 drop out rate. of the 255 players drafted in 05, 64 are no longer in football, Unfair maybe but that is the truth.
You cant rate a class just by looking at the first round, all of the who-dats are important too. look what the pats did with a bunch of nobodys.
since most "experts" say that it takes 3-5 years to evalute a draft then i think you should make the cut-off at 2002 and we should vote on the best class from 92-02.

Duckett has consistently pounded out yards for the falcons, buchanon has nit been the greatest first round DB that ever lived, but few ever are. he contirbutes he has 11 ints and 17 passes deflected, Chris Mcalister was a little high than that at that point in his carreer.
these guys are not super stars but they dont suck.

No Randel El sucks, he only threw a touch down pass in the Super Bowl last season. We all know wide recievers do that all the time.

Uh neither Duckett nor Buchanon start for their respective team. In fact Buchanon got benched for some 2nd day draft pick last year.
and who cares that Randle El threw a TD pass....
I should not have said that the 02 class was bad, but some of those players on your list are not good.
