It seems like every year, less and less guys come to NYC for the festivities. I can understand them wanting to be with their familiers though.

This year, six standouts will be at the Javits Center in New York for the draft. They are:

• Cedric Benson, RB, Texas
• Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn
• Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan
• Aaron Rodgers, QB, Cal
• Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami (Fla.)
• Alex Smith, QB, Utah

That doesn't seem like a huge drop-off from last year. Or is it?

He will be. The 49ers have narrowed their choices to Rodgers, Smith and Edwards, and will pick whichever of the three is willing to sign for the least money.

Cedric Benson has some potential to slide a good ways down the first round, though. Mike Williams would have been a better choice.

last year was

1.Eli
2.Gallery
3.Winslow
4.Roy Williams
5.Hall
6.KW2
7. Big Ben

I'm pretty sure that's all. so not a huge dropoff

two years ago it was.

1.Palmer
2.Rodgers
3.Newman
4.Kennedy
5.Leftwich

and I don't remember if there was anybody else.

oh yeah, Suggs and Robertson.

so it's been 7 the last 2 years.

he wasn't in New York though.

I think everybody is ok with being last as long as they're not called toward the end of the 1st and everybody else is gone by the teens.

I guess it would be pretty funny to see someone like Brock Berlin go to the arena. and then wait for 2 days without being called
