I'm definitely excited, it's been years since we picked top 5, and IMO, there's a lot of good looking prospects for us to choose from.

I'm also beginning to lean towards Alex Smith, I don't like the idea of trading an arm and leg to move up 3 spots, but the thought of what he can do in Grudens offense in a couple years is exciting. He's an incredibly smart QB, great footwork, very good speed and very accurate. Only knock is his arm strength and we won a Superbowl with noodle arm, Brad Johnson. I also don't see Griese ever leading us to a Superbowl, he looked very good some games but really blew it for us in other games. Simms, I don't know what to think of, he can potentially be a good QB, but he hasn't done nearly enough to even earn much PT in Grudens eyes, so that says a lot to me about what he thinks of him.

All 3 RB's look like they could be something special, and I also read somewhere that Pat Kirwan believes it's a possibility Tampa makes a draft day deal for Edge which would allow them to select BMW, Smith or Edwards. With our cap situation, i'm not so sure it's possible, but I wouldn't count Bruce Allen out at all, he's worked miracles before.

Anyway you look at it, it looks like it's going to be a very interesting day for Tampa on April 23rd and IMO, Gruden has to make the right pick.

holy **** man...think for a second Allen can figure out what to do with our cap....can you IMAGINE getting Edge AND BMW the same day?!

this guy will never knock Gruden or Allen ever again, I guarantee that

im also startin to warm up to the thought of Alex Smith, kids got mobility and hes smart, Gruden went as far as to call him a genius...turns out Smith was helping Utah drawing plays or something to that extent...I wouldnt want to trade a 1, 2, AND 3 for him...but if he fell to #5 I would **** my pants

They say that Alex Smith is probally the smartest person to ever enter the NFL Draft. I agree if he fell to us and neither wr and the only rb is benson then i would take him but the only position we really have on the offensive side of the ball that is pretty much set right now is qb because Brian is a ok starter and simm's could turn out to be a surprise if the chance is given. I would be pissed if we traded up to get Smith because with the 5th we could get BMW and trade the 2nd round pick for a quality starting Rb.
