The Broncos have two (admittedly low) first round picks in the upcoming NFL draft. They COULD package both of those with a future first rounder to move up into the top spot of this upcoming draft. Now, I know we don't NEED Reggie, but think about this: if our system makes average RBs very good, what would a great RB like Bush do in it? Yes, we have several other, more pressing needs, but this is a rare opportunity to grab a special player.
The Texans would be fools not to jump on that offer because they would then have four first round picks in a span of two years and they are in desperate need of as much premium help as possible. The Broncos could probably spin Tatum Bell into another second rounder for this draft or the next. This is all rather raw at the moment, but I think the logistics make sense. To be honest, I'm not sure I buy into this idea in general, but it's worth a little debate.

Reggie Bush on the Broncos would be gnarly.

no one would drop 25 spots just to earn another late 1st rounder
Look at what the chargers got when we had the #1 pick (2 HIGH #1s, a 3rd and a 5th)
Thats roughly what the texans would want for the #1 pick, and the #1 pick probably has more value this year because there 3 potential franchise changing players

It's a lose/lose situation for both team.
Texans need to pick high so they can draft quality linemens...not to mention they are probably salivating over Bush more then anyone else in this draft. Your low draft picks are of very small value and next year your team should kickass agian, so overall your 3 first rounders aren't that much....
You yourself are giving your future in for Reggie Bush...suppose he was a bust it'd probaby go down as one of the worst trade ever. Broncos don't need Bush, they have a solid rushing game....If anything I bet with your picks you could pick up Maroney.
Mainly, the Texans would be the losers.....you could offer anyone on your team plus 3 of your first rounder and they probably still won't take it. Bush is overhyped to the fact that you'd have to be in the Manning/LT/Brady category in order for the Texans to agree...

2nd round pick
3rd round pick
4th round pick
1st next year
2nd next year
4th next year

I'm glad you've all had some fun with this. I sort of threw this up there on a whim to see what people thought and I'm liking what I've seen. I am almost sure that I would now be against this deal as a Broncos fan, but I'll play the devil's advocate just for kicks. Here we go:
I agree that the Texans would ask for alot, but the Broncos ARE be giving up a lot. Three first round draft picks, granted they're all in the bottom third of the round, is still more than what they Chargers got for Eli. The Texans could realistically use the first rounders this year to get the best available defender in a position of need and the top interior lineman in the draft. They could use their top two picks in next year's draft to take an impact OT and the best available defender. Couple that with an agressive attitude in free agency and this deal could make them contenders in a hurry. Regardless of how highly you think of him, Reggie Bush will not do that for them. He is simply not that much of an improvement over Domanick Davis at RB or Jerome Mathis at KR.
From the Broncos perspective, this is indeed a risky move. They do, however, have the chips to make it with. They are trading an EXTRA first rounder in 2006 and can essentially replace their lost first rounder with a good second rounder in 2007 by dealing Tatum Bell to a team of need before then. They do not need Reggie Bush, but who doesn't want him? Perhaps the Broncos as a team don't have all that much to gain by making this deal, but the franchise sure does. This guy is probably going to be an NFL icon. Sure, he could be a bust, but so could either of the two guys the Broncos end up with in the first round should they keep their picks. They are a good enough team to survive his failure.
Again, this is all for argument's sake. In truth, I'm not sure I would do this deal as either team, it's just fun to think about. And hey, it could happen...

Denver could draft some scrub in the 7th round and have him go for 1400 yards -- WTF would they waste all that money on Bush?

Because if a 7th round scrub can run for 1,400 yards in Denver, just imagine what Reggie Bush would do. Also, I'm pretty sure he'd beat Tatum Bell and Mike Anderson in jersey sales and whatnot. There's more to football than just football, you know? Seriously though, is there any doubt that he'd rack up close to 3,000 total yards. I mean, between rushing, receiving and returning kicks, he'd be hard-pressed not to.
