Penn State offensive tackle Levi Brown has decided to return for his senior season.
Brown and linebacker Paul Posluszny are scheduled for a press conference at 2 p.m. today for what the school's sports information department described as an opportunity for them to "discuss their future plans in football."
Both juniors had said they would consider opting for the NFL draft a year early.
Posluszny, the Lions standout from Hopewell High School who had won the Bednarik and Butkus awards for the 2005 season, previously had been reported to be returning. He suffered an injury to his right knee during Penn State's FedEx Orange Bowl win against Florida State, and rehabilitation is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks. Penn State loses seven defensive starters from its 2005 team -- three of four defensive linemen and four of four secondary members.
Brown had said before the team's Orange Bowl game that he would talk with his family and the Penn State coaching staff after the bowl to make his decision about going pro, but that "more than likely" he would be back.
Since then, Brown has told the Lions staff he will be returning, lessening the rebuilding job on the offensive line, where the Lions already have lost four of five starters to graduation.
Brown, 6-foot-5, 324, has started 34 of the past 35 games at left tackle and the past season was a first team All-Big Ten selection. He also was named a second team All-American for his play in 2005.
