I know what your saying. The problem is going to be discovered no matter how many workouts or meetings he blows. Some team is going to want a full medical evaluation. It's not a secret that he has had back and neck problems in the past. That alone is going to raise red flags with most NFL teams. The only thing he can home to accomplish by taking this route is either that he somehow slips under the radar or puts it off long enough that some team is not able to do a full evaluation before the draft and takes the risk.

Gotta give McNeill some props today. Gary Horton said McNeill showed some energy at practice today and looked pretty solid. Did say he took some odd steps in some drill as if he was afraid to tweek his back but overall had a productive day.

I thought that was a little overblown. It wasn't like the guy played on roids in college he took them in the offseason to help heal a lingering elbow injury faster. He wasn't in the NFL so he didn't violate any rules. I believe doctors will give you steroids to help with injuries and whatnot correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, people went completely overboard on the whole issue. They were medically-prescribed by a doctor....It was to help an elbow that was having problems healing, and the guy never had a history of anything having to do with drugs or bad behavior in school. He graduated Northwestern with around a 3.7 GPA from what I remember, so he's not some clueless idiot.

He went as far as to have a clause in his contract written in that he would repay his entire signing bonus if he ever tested positive for a banned substance again. Luis obviously panned out for us, and most Charger fans consider him a STEAL at where we drafted him. He just had an awesome, awesome debut as a rookie this year.....
