I also think the combination of big trade + #1 pick + New York Media could be very crushing on a young quarterback. Look at Eli Maning for example.
Not to say that Leinart would end up the same way but media in New York would be very hard on him if the Jets give up alot to get him and he doesn't start producing right away.

giving up a player thats on the way out anyway isnt really giving up much.
and Eli Manning is fine, especially when it comes to the media. He's never gotten into any trouble with the media, nor has he ever lashed out at them. Maybe you're mistaking him for Ryan Leaf and the Giants for the Chargers, minus the whole trade thing.
