15-20 range? I have no clue who the hell that could be.

Maybe Donte Whitner?
Could be. It would not be the first time I have heard those two names tied together.

Why the moves by SF and Denver then? Obviously Chicago has a list of players they covet and feel will be there when they pick in round 2 if they make this trade. It's not unheard of. Why not strike while the iron is hot?

As far as Bing goes, we are talking about the Raiders. Take a look at their draft history. When Al Davis get a hard on for player he will make the moves and pull the trigger. I also don't see why Bing is a reach in the 1st.
The SF & Denver thing is a different animal all together. Denver's got other picks in case they want to do something in the first round. The extra was their to play with and do whatever they wanted with.

The Bears got nothing else. It's like when you're selling a car, you don't go out and say "jeez I need to get rid of this car like no one's business" It lowers your value from the start.

And as far as Bing goes, he could go in the first. The Steelers are apparently very interested as well. I just think that, like anything else at this stage, it's a lot of misinformation and "strategic misrepresentation" that's going on.

Several reports I received today say the Bears have had discussions with 3 team inside the top 10 of round 2 about acquiring the 26th selection in the 1st round. It is said that a deal is very close with 1 of those teams and could be announced as early as Thursday. Another sceanrio has Chicago holding out till draft day just to make sure a better deal does not fall into their laps. Either way, I'm told Chicago will not keep the 26th pick.

I know there is not much info as far as the details of the trade or teams involved and it's not likely I'll get a team named easily but rumor has it that the Raiders are the team that has stepped up. They seem to be targeting Bing with the 26th pick.
any idea what we may be getting for #26???

No, the SF/Denver trade was based on the smae idea. The Broncos felt that their board is set up to acquire who they like with the additional 2nd day picks and the 49ers believe they players they are targeting would only be there around that area. Both of those teams could have easily waited till draft day because the 49ers don't know if their guy will be there or not but sometimes you need to take the leap. The price on draft day could much higher then it is now.

I can only speculate but considering it involves a team in the top 10 of the 2nd round, for example the Raiders it would include a 2nd rounder (obviously) and based on what I know it would have to include either a 3rd rounder or future pick.

After trading Mike Green, I'd like to see the Bears target Bing.
