Several reports I received today say the Bears have had discussions with 3 team inside the top 10 of round 2 about acquiring the 26th selection in the 1st round. It is said that a deal is very close with 1 of those teams and could be announced as early as Thursday. Another sceanrio has Chicago holding out till draft day just to make sure a better deal does not fall into their laps. Either way, I'm told Chicago will not keep the 26th pick.
I know there is not much info as far as the details of the trade or teams involved and it's not likely I'll get a team named easily but rumor has it that the Raiders are the team that has stepped up. They seem to be targeting Bing with the 26th pick.

Hmm....seems they are trading down..smart move on their part if that is true

The Raiders don't think so. There was even talk of the Raiders trying to move down into the middle of Round 1 and get him. They must feel there is someone at the end of round 1 or beginning of round 2 who covets him just as much as they do.
Wow. Why would you even talk about that now? Wait til draft day, there's no way this deal should get done until you see who's left at that spot. Someone might/will likely slip to you who should have gone a lot higher and you could either draft him or ask for more in trade. But to swap spots preemptively is silly.

And Bing at 26?
The Bears have made it pretty obvious they were looking to move from that pick for the last few days now. It only stepped up in intensity after they gave up a 3rd for Manning.
