This mock is based on a trade down from 18 and little luck with some slipping players.

Round 1) Bobby Carpenter OLB Ohio St
Carpenter gives Dallas the perfect compliment opposite Ware. The ties here with Parcells are to strong to ignore. The intrest has really picked up in recent days and I think Wimbley and Lawson will be gone before Dallas goes on the clock at 18.

Round 2) Ko Simpson S South Carolina
Dallas signed Coleman earlier this week and matched the Saints offer to Keith Davis but that won't prevent them from getting younger and more athletic. Easily the most glaring need on the team Simpson will give Dallas the ball hawk they have missed at FS.

Round 3) Jonathan Scott OT Texas
No one's stock at OT has dropped more but Dallas will be hard pressed to pass on this hometown product when he's on the board in the 3rd round. He's a year or two away from starting but that's ok cause Adams is a year or two away from walking away from the game.

Round 3) Kellen Clemens QB Oregon
Jerry keeps saying they are not interested in drafting a QB in the 1st day yet they keep bring back these first day prospects. Clemens stock has been rising of late and Dallas has jumped on that bandwagon. Two interviews and personal work out make me believe there is some serious intrest here.

Round 4) Chris Cogong DE Cal Poly
A real project but Dallas has made it no secret how they feel about him. I'm starting to have my doubts that he will last till the 4th round as other teams have taken notice around the NFL.

Round 5) Cory Rogers WR T.C.U
Another home town product Dallas has shown much intrest in. Even with the signing of TO Dallas lacks depth and insurance at the WR spot.

Round 6) Anthony Schlegel ILB Ohio St
Why not take 2 from that great Ohio St LB group? Dallas has needs at ILB and Schlegel has been a favorite of Dallas for a while now. We don't know about Burnett and despite signing Akin last month Dallas lacks depth at ILB.

Round 7) Quadtrine Hill FB Miami
I have a feeling I may be a round to late on this one but Hill is the 1st FB Parcells has really coveted while in Dallas. Many feel Hill can play a little RB as well and with Polite the only FB on the roster Dallas is looking for an upgrade. One of Hills strengths is as a receiver and it's something Dallas has lacked for years now.

HOW FAR DO YOU HAVE THEM TRADING DOWN FOR CARPENTER? I JUST DON'T THINK IT'S ALL THAT LIKELY WITH THE PATRIOTS AND 49ERS BEING REAL CLOSE BEHIND THEM WHO YOU WOULD HAVE TO THINK WOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER CARPENTER AS WELL.

I think it depends on what happens with Lawson and Wimbley. I think the 49ers are more apt to look there to replace Peterson.

As for the PAts, I'm not sure they go LB in the 1st with Colvin and Vrbel. I don't believe they've taken a LB in the 1st under Poili.
