There are no "rounds", the teams bid on players that weren't in the draft by bidding with next year's picks. They can go as high as they want, based on last year's standings. For example, if the Texans wanted Brooks, they'd get him if it came down to everyone bidding first round picks. But they'd forfeit their first rounder next year.

THEY DON'T USE THE SAME DRAFT ORDER, THEY USE A LOTTERY SYSTEM TO DETERMINE THE ORDER.

If im not mistaken, they take teams that picked in the top 10, draw an order for them. Than take all other non-playoff teams, draw an order for them, and than all playoff teams, and draw an order for them. That gives the order for the sup. draft.
Than, teams submit their picks for each player, if any. For example, if SF wants Brooks, they can offer any of their picks. If they submit their 1st round pick, the only teams that could get him were the teams in the top 10 that got picks ahead of SF in the lottery, and ALSO submit their 1st.
It sounds kind of confusing but once you understand it you'll see its really simple.
So, realistically, let me give an example. The Giants are interested in Brooks. I dont know if they are or not, im just using them as an example. They know that, odds are, SF and/or Houston will take him in the 2nd round. Therefore, they have to figure out whether Brooks is worthy of their 1st round pick? If they think he is, than they ALSO have to weigh Brooks's potential with the current Junion/Senior players in college. Can they get a player of equal or greater talent in next years draft? Do they want to risk giving up a great pick next year for Brooks? What happens if they end up getting the injury bug and having their season destroyed by injury, like Philly and Carolina the past 2 years? They might end up with a top 10 pick and if they take Brooks, they wouldnt get to make the pick, is it worth that risk?
These are all questions that the GM and scouts have to take into account before they offer any picks for a player.

AND THAT DOESN'T REALLY CHANGE THAT FACTS IT'S ONE OF THE BEST PLAYS YOU'LL EVER SEE FROM A COLLEGE LB EITHER.
AS FAR AS EVERYONE ARGUING WHERE HELL GET DRAFTED, AFTER THIS YEARS INJURIES, WEIGHT PROBLEMS, AND OFF FIELD ISSUES, AND SAY HE'D BE LUCKY IF SOMEONE SPENT A 3RD ROUNDER ON HIM. IF HE COULD HAVE PLAYED LAST YEAR LIKE HIS PREVIOUS YEARS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A 1ST ROUND LOCK UNLESS HE PULLED A "PARHAM" AND RAN A 5.1 40 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

what's up mouse! i agree 3rd or even a 4th rounder, there are not to many teams looking for problem player's except maby the dolphin's and nick saban.

If they are taken in the first round do they still get first round money or is it a good bit less being that they were taken in the sup draft?

I just wonder how dedicated he will be. I dont know if he has any kids, but even if he doesnt make it to the NFL he will be in good financial shape because his dad played in the NFL. He had a wealthy upbringing and in addition to his poor work ethic in general, I dont think hes going to make it in the NFL. Granted, he has shown flashes of great play, and I thought he looked great early in his college career. I just dont think hes going to work at all and will be a headcase for whatever team takes a chance on him.

Yeah. . .he had a lot of issues with Groh and Co. about his offseason commitment. Came into spring football seriously overweight twice.
