We have our safeties of the future, former round 2 picks Sean Jones and Brodney Pool.

We don't need another.

why are we drafting a DT in the first round, did Casey Hampton die? [/b]
Happens every year. People give us DL in the first round. Under Cowher we've NEVER taken a potential DE first and Casey Hampton is the only DL we've taken round 1. Won't happen.

@ Frank Gore as a starting RB in this league. If the Niners have a chance to go from Gore to Peterson and don't take it they're going to keep picking in the top 5 for the next decade.

[/b]
Frank Gore is going to be good. The only knock is the injury worry. He is quick, runs with power, and has great vision.

that's fine, as long as you acknowledge the injury concern. Even with Priest Holmes on the roster the Chiefs drafted LJ. A few seasons down the line, those injuries caught up to Priest and now the Chiefs are in a good place at RB. Just keep it in mind is all I'm saying. If he holds for the season, you probably don't need to run out and grab AP but to rest on your laurels and not take a first day RB just because Gore managed to survive a season healthy is asinine.

They drafted LJ because Priest Holmes is 33 years old. Gore is 23 and MRob is probably what 22/23 as well, I HIGHLY doubt we'd draft Adrian Peterson. Why have 3 solid young RBs when your team needs other positions filled much more.

It's hard to tell yet because he's gone against 2nd string defenses but he has looked really good at RB. Who knows what will happen in a year though.

just keep drinking the kool aid. YPC isn't the end all be all. What did he do against quality run D's? how much of that YPC is padded by huge runs against **** Ds or in garbage time? And aren't you at all concerned about injuries? This guy had MAJOR problems with injuries through high school and college. It's only a matter of time before it really kicks up again in the NFL.

9 carries for 89 yards against Washington
15 carries for 79 yards against Jacksonville
7 carries for 42 yards against Dallas

Get this man some carries and he'll be putting up 1200 to 1300 a season.

The only real knock you can have on him is that he needs to stay healthy.
