WTF did they just seriously have us picking a WR at the #3spot!? First of all we will not be picking #3, second even if we were we sure as hell wouldn't take a WR maybe Calvin Johnson but that's it! We need some help on the D-Line & O-Line so that is the direction we would need to go

Gore HAD health issues and MRob looked awesome in the preseason scoring what... 3 times, not bad for a rookie changing positions.

One pretty healthy NFL season erases an entire college career of injuries?

EDIT: I think Gore could be an NFL star, but you can't deny that injuries are a major concern surrounding him.

I think he still has health "concerns" with 2 offseason shoulder surgeries and the hip injury last year. Knock on wood that he's over all that ****.

let's play out this season and see how he does. I hope that now with professional trainers he's learned how to work out to strengthen the areas of concern for injury and also how to run/take hits to try and avoid anything serious.

you guys need to let go of the preseason stat collectors though. Brian St. Pierre once had a perfect outting while passing against 2nd stringers in the preseason. It doesn't mean ****.

Of course, let go of the preseason, but can you deny the stats that WMAC provided?

To play the devils advocate, Nolan DOES (has even said it) pick the BPA, so if we were left with Peterson who knows what we might do, it COULD be very possible that he picks AP.

He could but then he'd probably get fired because they are gonna have to sign Gore in the next 2 years AND then AP to a big contract... aint happenin.

I'd rather have him than Merriweather. He'd make an outstanding 3-4 DE.

72 yards of that came with 13 seconds left in the 4th quarter. The Niners lost that game 52-17. When you're losing that badly, the d is playing pass protection and nothing else. Garbage time. Take that run away and his average was a pitiful 2.125 ypc

this was a good game and he also pitched in well in the passing game. one point for you.

yeah and Barlow ran 12 times for 65. They had no problem getting rid of him.

Here's something that's interesting when you look at his game log for '05.

Weeks 1-9 he averaged about 8 touches a game. 8 touches a game. And got dinged up for two weeks after that.

You're going to tell me that if you have the opportunity to draft AP, or in another scenario maybe trade down from the spot you're at to draft AP collect an extra 2 and use that extra 2 to draft a different back. (The point is, to get another day 1 back capable of competing for the starting position). You're not going to because you have small back with an injury history and you're expecting him to handle 20-30 touches a game for an entire season?

YAOK. Gore is a good complimentary back but he should not be viewed as an end all/be all feature back.
