Nevermind.

1st (32nd) - Troy Smith / Ohio State ---One of those picks experts will question...But when you win 2 Super Bowls back to back, you can afford to gamble a little. You can never have enough playmakers, and this pick will pay off down the road. Whether it's at QB, RB, or WR...if this guy falls, you take him. Best player available. **** need. Smith re-unites with Holmes.

2nd - Brian Leonard FB Rutgers ---Perfect fit for this town. The Heath Miller of fullbacks. Steelers finally use their tight end in the passing game, and now they use their fullback. Probably the best hands in the nation. Instant weapon for Ben. Great blocker who can also move the chains.

3rd - Buster Davis ILB Florida State --- His intensity on the field, sideline to sideline, makes up for his lack of size. Another Seminole for the Steelers. Great value here.

Smith will be long gone by 1.32 at least he should be if he lives up to the hype this season. but we can't keep neglecting the OL.

I have a feeling Smith will be one of those big names that goes later than sooner. It happens every year with offensive players.

You're probably right about Leonard. But not many teams are willing to spend a top day 1 pick on a fullback. Never know. I wouldn't mind trading out of the first round to grab him though.

lol ... you think we need to go OL in the first round? What Kemo, Colon, Phillips, and Essex? If the Steelers hit on those guys we might be okay and don't know it yet. I have to admit though that I kind of think they are pretty average ...

Right now Colon is backing up Starks on our depth chart. I don't know. I didn't see anything to think that eventually any of those guys you listed will be able to replace Faneca. My guess is we'll probably be picking in the mid to late 20s (sure, hope to repeat but just my best guess)... probably be in decent position to get a decent OG/C in round 1, Leonard in 2 and the LB in 3. Let's see how the season plays out but right now that's how I'd look at it.

The right side of the line still concerns me. If we were picking early I'd pull the trigger on one of the big OTs in a heart beat.

I agree man. A stud OL would be a great addition. It is a little early to really think about it though.

I started thinking about it the day after the draft was over.
