Allot of ohiostate fans are saying David Patterson is better then Quinn Pitcock this year. Did he not make te list because he dosent project as well?

There are stretches where you see Patterson making more plays. When you take a closer look at the situation you see that it normally happens because of the attention and extra lineman going towards Pitcock.

I am always one to say stats don't mean everything but they are a good building block to consider when ranking prospects. Let's look at the stats from this year.

Stats through 3 games...

Tackles

Pitcock 8
Patterson 5

Tackles for Loss

Pitcock 4
Patterson 2

Sacks

Pitcock 4 sacks for a loss of 30 yards
Patterson 0

How exactly again is Patterson making more plays than Pitcock? Pitcock has far better numbers and he is getting doubled more than Patterson. The increase in Pitcock's production this year deals with doing a better job against double teams because last year Patterson had more sacks and tackles for loss than Pitcock while Pitcock had more solo and total tackles.

2005 Numbers

Patterson 24 tackles (11 solo) 7.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks 2 forced fumbles
Pitcock 28 tackles (15 solo) 3 tackles for loss 1 sack 1 interception 1 fumble recovery 2 forced fumbles 1 blocked punt

Ellis should stay in school...as far as Harrell....depends on how many underclassmen declare...DT is one of the positions where many of the top prospects I see right now would have to declare...hard to give his position until we get a feel for how many young pups are coming out.
