Is there some Colt Brennan ripping going on up in here?

There better not be any Colt Brennan ripping going on up in here.

haha won't find any here...yes he plays in a gimmick offense but unlike Timmy Chang he has a shot at the next level, he could thrive in another system.

DJ you aren't alone on the John Beck bandwagon. He has played well in that system, and lead them to a great season this year. This all after he lost his best WR in Watkins last year.

So count me in for that following DJ

I'm really trying to keep an open mind about Beck. But I just saw that he is 25 years old. That is going to make him 3-4 years older than all the other QBs in this class. I know that big of an age difference has hurt others in the past. Think that would have much of an impact?

no question it will have an impact and it is a agood point.....can't tell you how many good BYU players have seen their stock hurt because they are older and have went on "missions" in the past. It's kinda wierd because it means teams drafting him near the top (first day) will steer clear of him. But by the time the second day rolls around this is a plus for some teams because they see the player as more mature and ready to contribute...so it is normally bad for you at the top of the draft but by the middle to end it is a plus...kinda wierd how that works.

ive heard this before but never really knew what to make of it..because looking at college stats Two Colleges in particular always have nearly 5,000 passing yards and 40/50 Passing TD's
DJ,what type of gimmick offenses do Hawaii and is it Texas Tech/or Texas A and M use?
Lots of 5 Wides out of shotgun which doesnt prepare a QB well for the NFL?

systems where it is pass...pass...pass. Many of the formations have 5 wide receivers or receiving options which is why the stats are so gaudy. A Quarterback doesn't need to be a technical wizard to run the system...basically what you need to do is get rid of the ball quickly. Many of the quarterbacks who play in this systems aren't ready for NFL offensesand their decisaion making is usually very poor when they have limited options in their passing game...at least limited to what they are used to seeing.

brennan is a little different...I think he has the ability to make it at the next level unlike Chang, Kliff Kingsbury, BJ Symons, Nick Rolovich etc etc..

I wanted to wait till the game was as close as possible before I said anything. But now that the match-up is literally going to happen (ND v. LSU, Quinn v. Russell), how much of an impact is the game going to have on the draft. 2 QB starved teams are at the top of the draft (Oak and Det), so could 2 QBs go at the top? This game is pretty much the last look teams will have at either player, since they won't participate at the combine or in post season all star games (I would think private workouts or team days would be the only other place to see them). So this is it...
