Nah, Rohan Davey was better. I'm not a big fan of Henne or Quinn or Stanton. Its all about Troy Smith and Brian Brohm.

1. Troy Smith, Jr., Ohio State
2. Brady Quinn, Sr., Notre Dame
3. Brian Brohm, Jr., Louisville
4. Drew Stanton, Sr., Michigan State
5. JaMarcus Russell, Jr., LSU

That's the order I think the QB's will go this year.Troy Smith is so much like a Donovan McNabb that I expect him to perform like him in the pros. Quinn loses his confidence too easy, but every other part of his game is alright. Brohm is my #1 guy for next year, but if he elects to put his name in this year, which would be a huge mistake, he should go third among QB's, 2nd if he's lucky. Drew Stanton seems to me like the kind of guy that will fall to the perfect team and have a good rookie season, even though he has not performed up to expectations this year. Russell would definitely do well with another year of college. If he proves he can lead his team to a big bowl game and an impressive record, then I think he could be in contention for top pick next year.
A better name for this thread would be "Brohm vs. Russell 2008"

I'm as huge a Troy Smith fan as you'll find, but I dunno about putting Quinn and Brohm ahead of him at this point...

Have you been watching any college football this year? Drew Stanton is horrible. I'm not saying that to be cruel or hateful, the guy has just been terrible. Now, I guess you figure he'll shake it off and shine the rest of the year, but that is doubtful cause now he's injured. Even if he plays through it, he will still struggle. On a different note, how often does a rookie QB fall to the right team and shine? Most suck the first year and that is expected.

I just don't see where you are coming from with Russell needing another year. He has started more games than Smith or Brohm and is younger than both. If he finishes out this year, he will have started somewhere around 30 games in his career. That is more than enough. I can rattle off about 10 first round QBs over the last 10 years who had less starts in college. It's just a weak arguement.

Russell is coming out this year. So no need to rename the thread. Maybe Brohm will come back and we can start another called White vs. Brohm 2008. That'll be fun.

Pat White is no more an NFL QB than Michael Robinson.

I wouldn't be too sure. He completes 60% of his passes and he is not that small. If he came from a more wide open offense with better WRs, I think he would compare pretty well to Troy Smith. Who was also viewed as mainly a runner before this year and not given much of a chance in the league.
