Why does he rank so low in everyone's rankings? IMO, he should be a top 5-10 WR bar none, in the 2007 draft.
Currently, he has 56 receptions(tied for 3rd in the nation) , 898 receiving yards (2nd in the nation), and 8 receiving TDs (tied for 10th). Add in his punt / kick return stats, which is 2 more TDs and what would be the best average in the nation if he had more returns. Already, he has surpassed his production from last year (which was a year of injuries for him). Oh and he's the player that makes Jordan Palmer look even half way decent... at times. He's projected to finish with 84 receptions, 1347 yards, and 12 TDs (not including his punt returns).
His best individual performances this season :
@SDSU : 7 receptions, 90 yards, 1 TD
Texas Tech : 13 receptions, 162 yards, 2 TDs
NMSU : 7 receptions, 223 yards, 3 TDs
@Houston : 6 receptions, 122 yards
@Tulsa : 10 receptions, 153 yards, 1 TD

He has great hands... great vision... brings excitement to every touch he has... dude's incredible... if Lee Mays could get drafted in the 3rd round, Johnny should be a 2nd round pick. I think he has compareable games to Marvin Harrison and Steve Smith.

Well he would be a top 5-10 WR if only Seniors could go out for the NFL draft. However, with the amazing JR class of WRs Higgins drops down the list of top players at that position. You have guys like Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Jarrett, Sidney Rice, Ted Ginn, Robert Meachem, Jeff Samardzija, Steve Smith and Todd Blythe. Two of which are seniors so maybe if half of them do not come out, however with guys like Johnson, Ginn, Meachem and Jarrett it would be hard to see them not coming out early. Then you have other very solid senior WRs in Filani, Hill, McKnight, and Bowe. Then if you go more into the JR WRs that could test the waters you have Anthony Gonzalez, Marcus Monk, Early Doucet and Dorein Bryant.
Higgins is a fine WR, but with the great talent infrom of him I do not see him being a top 5-10 WR picked come draft day. All depends on what underclassmen declare but just looking ahead I would take those highly talented underclassmen over Higgins any day.

That would be the most ignorant arguement you could throw out. Steve Smith played at Utah. Byron Leftwich, Ben Roethlisberger, Charlie Frye, and Chad Pennington all played in the MAC... etc.

If you haven't seen him, maybe you shouldn't say anything.
And Robert Rodgriguez was good... but I never said he'd be a starter for you guys. I just wanted him to make a team.
Only if a UTEP fan put together a highlight clip of Johnny Lee Higgins and his TDs... some of his plays are absolutely jaw dropping. JLH should be drafted just as early as Thomas Howard was. JLH is a freak, athletically... runs a 4.2 40 dash. If he runs that at the combine, he'll become a household name for this upcoming draft.

Sounds like it will be loaded.
But you get my point... JLH is underrated either way.
