Thumbs down

Just wanted to let you guys know profile writing has begun for me and my profiles will be available on www.draftstock.com. I am helping nfldraftforecast of course but profiles will be appearing on draftstock. This site is going through a re-launch (probably reformatted in the february time frame) it will now be what it was intended for when built. Draftstrock will offer the chance for users to build portfolios (like a stock portfolio) where a prospects value will go up or down (like a stock).....now just working on the format for how a format of a game will work...again where your portfolios can be compared to others. I have talked to our developers about having some people from this site helping to test it....

My editor is looking at the profile now to make sure the masks and format is what we want to see. Once it is approved I will post a sample of two here....looks like this site is going to be mostly free...I think profiles can be seen free....if there is any pay it might be for higher end stock type stuff but I think the feeling is make this free and revenue will be generated off advertising. The engine used to compile stats is the same outfit that ESPN uses so many of the features already exist...we just have to package it all together and get the front end tweaked....we are excited because this is something that doesn't exist on any current draft site...it is more like a gaming aspect for the draft where my information will just help people coming to the site.

Just wanted to make everyone aware. And to also let you know that I will still be working with the NFLDraftForecast crew, they knew about my involvement with this site from day 1 and I will continue to have content available there because as you have already seen, nfldraftforecast rocks!

I will have about 350 in depth profiles available at draftstock.

Hope your off to a better start then I am. Lost 2 days work when my hard drive crashed and now my video card is on the fritz making game film a trip to view. Right now I'm working with the prospects I had done waiting for Christmas when I get my new system so I can cram 4 days worth of work into 2.

I'm trying to magically find another potential 5-6 1st round corners that the 10-12 NFL teams needing one will want. Made me quit at least a few mocks because of positional issues.

Right now i'm finiding it hard to figure that out for myself because so many have question marks. Assuming that Daymeion Hughes and Marcus McCauley are falling out of the 1st as my sources uggest then right now my only locks are Leon Hall, Antoine Cason and Darrelle Revis. After that I have Fred Bennett, Josh Wilson and AJ Davis as possibles. After that I have no idea. I'm trying to fabricate some 1st round corners out of nowhere but think we'll need to wait until workouts. Right now for me that is the position that will decide exactly how this draft goes and right now the top end talent just doesn't seem to be there. Guess that's why I haven't done a whole lot this year because i'm really struggling to figure this out for myself. Trying to put square pegs into round holes. Well that and my health. You got any strong feelings on DBs? Right now to me underclassmen and workout warriors will be the key to the whole draft there for me.

I have a few workout warriors and posible surprises you may see find their way into round 1 but it's early. I think a few names to keep an eye on are:

Tanard Jackson from Syracuse | workouts will determine where he falls but scouts like what they see on the field. If he runs a sub 4.5 it might be enough to launch him into Round 1

Zackary Bowman from Nebraska | He has size that scouts love but he is another one that will greatly help himself during workouts. His speed is a question mark but if also runs a sub 4.5 his tools will hard to ignore. He also has a ACL injury that may hurt him but if all checks out ok keep an eye on him.

Aaron Ross from Texas | It seems to be a theme but if he can prove to scouts he has the speed to play everything else is there.

John Wendling from Wyoming may be the most intreaguing prospect. he has verifiable size and speed but lacks the instincts. He is one prospect who may have the most to gain from workouts.

Again, right now beyond Bowman most of these guys are not bonified 1st round talents but have gained the attention of NFL scouts and are being watched closely. It may be to early to place them in round 1 of your mock right now but in a month you may look their direction.

I like Bowman a lot and the year being weak for corners with so much demand would help him, but to see a kid who isn't a freak (like Cromartie last year) come out without playing all year wouldn't make that much sense. He must surely be a top 3 or 4 corner for next year if healthy? I've heard some talk of him coming out but it would be a huge risk for the kid. I have those guys on my Radar with Ross being the highest but really do any have the mix of athleticism and ball skills to be a 1st rounder? I'm not sold. The mid tier is deep this year and there's a lot of guys with the ability to play early and contribute early for teams as a #2 like those you posted but i'm not seeing the franchise DBs we usually have 5 or so of. DBs aren't my strength so I may be missing something but this year the talent doesn't seem to march the demand for the first round.
