the more I think about it, I can't see Davis passing on Russell. I think he'd be a good fit in Oakland

17. Jacksonville Jaguars-Justin Blalock-Offensive Guard-Texas
The Jaguars have a good thing going with their running game so why not ensure it will be just as productive in 2007? The Jaguars have very little depth at guard and Blalock is the best available at the position.[/b]
Huh? We have to have one of the best guard duos in the entire league. If we are to look to draft any position on the offensive line, it would be right tackle. We just extended Manuwai.... I don't see the Jaguars using the #17 pick on him, especially just for depth purposes. I'm suprised you have Reggie Nelson falling so far... wasn't he being projected as a top 15 pick? I think if that's what we are left with... we will trade down a few spots and take Reggie Nelson.... if we lose Deon Grant. Troy Smith might be an option as well. The Jaguars are reportedly in love with Russell though... so I wouldn't doubt the huge trade up, although I wouldn't like that option.

I think Reggie Nelson's stock will slip until he can prove to teams he is a true safety.....I think to many teams are starting to have doubts as to whether he is a safety or will have to be taken as a corner...still a great first round pick but right now I think that uncertainty will cause him to slip a bit.....why he ended up in Philly in my mock...they need help at both spots.

I changed at the last second...I had you with bBalock and then switched.....big part is I know how much the Steelers are talking about him....just got the feeling they would feel he would be gone by the second round.....but agreed....Blalock was who I had until then....[/b]

You mean the Steelers are talking about Alexander?? Interesting, I (like Nixon) am not sure how he fits in with us.

in round 2...risky to wait that long.....I know another guy being talked about is Adam Carriker of Nebraska at DE.

I can definitely see Carriker. Aaron Smith's replacement in 08. Good fit, IMO.

Yeah at #11 with him still up there he had to land in Frisco...like I said he is top 5 -6 talent sao it is unlikely but I can see why that would make Niner fans happy.

It makes absolute sense... With his size and ability. Our DL is probably our biggest weakness besides WR.

Where are you projecting Woodley? Early 2nd?

The coach staff really believes offensive line is the 2nd deepest unit on the team behind the defensive line. Or they might have said first. I don't remember exactly.

@ Guard we have Dennis Norman. I'm pretty sure Richard Collier could play guard with his size, as well. The coaching staff is extremely high in both... and either could be groomed to replace Naeole and Williams. I do agree with you there though... Chris is getting up there in age, and it would make sense to maybe add another player behind him to develop. I really don't see the team spending a 1st round pick on a guard though.... especially with the problems @ QB. And although Naoele is aging... he hasn't shown it as of yet, so it shouldn't be a dire need for the coaching staff to address.

It's too bad we don't need a RB... we would be in perfect position to get Lynch. Defensive end is a possibility .. Hayward is coming off an achilles tear... an injury that will probably take away a lot of what makes Reggie effective. I could also see us taking a linebacker as well. I'm not so sure that Mike Peterson will be in Jacksonville too much longer.... Daryl Smith should be starting inside (where he has absolutely thrived in MP's absence) next season with Mike making the move back to the outside. If Poluzny(sp?) or Rufus Alexander falls to us... I could see us taking either of them.

I like Okam but i think the Titans will go S or DE if we go Defense in the first

Man... I really don't know about drafting a CB in round 1 for Green Bay. We already have two guys to develop in Jarret Bush and Wil Blackmon. I mean, you probably know better than I, but I will be dumbfounded if they pick a CB with #16.

Oh and pssst... btw... I think GB picks at 16. Steelers at 15.
