So what do you guys think about Jared Zabransky? I got into a conversation today at work about him and his future.

Me? I am on the fence about him. Sometimes he is great. Other times he makes erratic decisions, i.e. 4th quarter Fiesta Bowl. I do however think he possesses excellent scrambling skills.

Anyways, do you guys think he will go drafted? I was thinking maybe a possible 6th or 7th round?

Just curious on your thoughts.

There's gonna be someone that's impressed with how he bounced back from that INT in the final minute

Could he be an NFL safety?

Flying Burrito nailed it....he has a shot at making a roster but I think the secondary is his best hope...I think he goes undrafted.

FlyingBurrito. I didn't even notice the name!

Anyways, thanks for the input guys. I couldn't really see him in the secondary, but, you never know.

His accuracy is average and obviously decision making is the big knock on him. It seems extreme to ask a QB to play defense, but that may be his best shot. I really dont think he ever gets past a practice squad as a QB. I like the kid, good attitude, solid leadership, I just dont think he has enough tools. Like you said he has decent speed, but probably not enough to play WR, which means defense is his last option.

Zabransky really turned a corner this year as far as leadership and decision making are concerned. While the Fiesta Bowl highlighted the former, it really masked the later. I mean, he cut his INT number in half (only 8 this year compared to 16 last year and 12 the year before that) and posted a career highs in TDs (23) completion percentage (just over 66%) and yards per attempt (almost 9). That said, his arm is not strong and he's not terribly accurate. He benefited greatly from playing in a defensively challenge, lesser conference and on the better team (most of the time) in college. I don't think he gets drafted and, if he does, it'll be in the 7th round. His scrambling and size do lend themselves to a possible position change, but I honestly don't know how he projects at anywhere other than QB. I don't think he'll ever be more than roster filler or practice squad guy regardless, but he was certainly an interesting college football player.

I can see him playing qb in the NFL if he improves his decision making, but with his size and speed I can definatly see a position change.

I thought he could be a late round QB. The few times I saw him, he played the position pretty well, and was pretty mobile. Kinda reminded me of a guy we already have though, Matt Mauck.
