This draft is pretty heavy at the top, I don't see the need for anyone to trade up to #1, especially for a QB. We now have two top QB prospects that could go in the top 3 picks. There's still a chance that Brian Brohm comes out as well.
That being said, I don't care who goes first. I'd take either Quinn or Russell at #3, with Detroit taking Thomas at #2.
Do you really think anyone is going to give up a 2nd for Moss? You're looking at a 3rd there man, or worse, he stays and plays like he did this season.

I totally agree with working the pick, but moving down from number 1 would be a mistake. Sometimes you can over think something that is pretty obvious. QB is your primary need, you have the pick of whoever you want, so why give someone the chance to mess you over? Plus who is the star that another team would want to deal up to get? It would have to be a major trade worth a ton of picks for someone out of the top 5 to get to number 1 and I don't see any player worthy of that type of price.
I really don't get why you would trade Moss either. Especially in your scenario your moving him just to move up 20 or so spots. That just seems like a waste, your not getting value for him. He is still one of the top 5 receivers in the game, you should be able to get a 1st rounder straight up for him. If your not going to get it, don't give him away. Give him a year to play himself back into value and them dump him.

If we do trade down to the #3 spot in the draft then Russell or Quinn should still be there, if not then we can load up on offense with playmakers & OL and give Walter another shot until next year. We should trade down a little bit and try to take a QB this year, if we don't get the QB we want at least we set ourselves up for a great draft this year and next year because we traded down. Plus we could still take a stud RB like Adrian Peterson or Marshawn Lynch to take the pressure off Walter and the rest of the offense

I don't understand where you are coming from. You just want to load up a team full of offensive playmakers with more playmakers, **** can the year and hope you land high enough next year to take a franchise QB? You have the number 1 pick now, there are 3 semi-legit franchise QBs who might potentially be in the draft (Russell, Brohm and Quinn), but you want to pass by them for what? Adrian Peterson? Adrian Peterson is an awesome back. But he could rush for 1,500 yards and the team could still suck. How can you not draft a QB? This will be the second year in a row you had the chance and didn't capitalize.
Lastly, do you really think Walter is the answer? I'm gathering that you still think there is a chance that he is going to be the man, so you don't see a need for drafting a QB. If that is the case, then your probably right that the team should drop back and gather picks. I only saw 3 or 4 games that he played in and I didn't see anything to convince me that he was the guy. But I'm sure you have better knowledge of him than me.

The thing with Walter is that he was put in a terrible situation I mean he had a terrible OC, terrible OL, no running game & WR's dropped passes. Now say we trade down just a little bit not even out of the top-3 I still think we can get Russell or Quinn but if we don't we still have a great pick and set ourselves up for a great draft this year and next year. We can load up on some playmakers and OL to help Walter out if he is still the QB next year so he can get a fair shot. Don't forget if we can't get Russell or Quinn there is always Troy Smith too. The thing I'm saying is we can still trade down to get extra picks so we can set ourselves up for a great draft for the next two years and still get a QB

I see where you are coming from, but your hedging your bets. If you truely want Walter to be given a shot, then you can't draft a QB early (like the first or second round) and then open up competition. You'll just end up with a bad QB rotation where neither one gets a fair shot and you generally end up splitting up the team and fans over who should be the guy. Hell I still wonder why Tuiasosopo wasn't given a shot at starting.
I don't think your goal should be setting yourself up for a great draft next year either. Heck I always hope we are picking last in every draft (which can't hurt with how bad the Skins draft). I think your better off bitting the bullet this year and building your franchise around the QB. Might hurt a little at first but it's better in the long run.

I think he meant that the tradedown would give them extra picks for next year. I don't think he was implying that the team should intentionally bomb next season.

Did anyone think Russel was the best QB in the draft before the ND game. I was hoping he'd would have a bad game against ND so he'd be a late first round pick and we could trade down/up for him. Also I was hoping Quinn would play amazing so raiders take him and take the nightmares out of my mind of the lions drafting Quinn.
