I asked this question to some people at the Maryland Athletic Department on two seperate occasions in the last month. Gaither is a true sophomore but I kept getting questions about him.

It looks like he is draft eligible....he has a year of prep school after high school and before Maryland (similar to the Larry Fitzgerald situation when he declared) so he is a true sophomore but three years removed from high school. I apologize to anyone I gave information regarding Gaither saying he was not eligible. I now know I need to double and triple check all info from the Maryland Athletrric Department because they either don;t know what's going on or I was misled.

Anyway, this could shake up the draft if he declares because he was my preliminary #1 recruit for 2008 just ahead of Darren McFadden. With his monsterous size and immense talent he could trump Joe Thomas in the rankings......this is a big story if he does indeed declare.

IN THIS CASE I'D DEFINITELY TAKE THOMAS OVER HIM. IF LONG AND BAKER DECLARED I PROBABLY WOULD TAKE THEM TOO.
I WANT TO HEAR A BIT MORE ON GAITHER OFF THE FIELD AS WELL. DOESN'T SOUND LIKE HIS COACHES WERE TO THRILLED WITH HIM OFF THE FIELD FROM WHAT I'VE READ.
BUT HE DEFINITELY HAS AMAZING ABILITY AND POTENTIAL WITH THAT SIZE AND ATHLETIC ABILITY.
