we are not in a position to take a "far from a sure thing" at the #2 spot.
Even tho i completely expect a trade down, we reportedly have 3 teams pickin in the top10 talkin to us right now about our pick, and rumors of swapping with cleveland circulating, for the sake of a mock, i would go with a safe pick over a gamble like Quinn

i hope this was a mock mock as it was
did zach miller have a twin brother or cousin also named zach on asu? also TE is far from a first round need for the bears. the bears top three needs are obvious: OL/LB/S.
i've read quite a bit that zach miller's poor combine performance has most teams feeling he's a third rounder at best.

I would hope we might take a look at him if he made it to us, him or Landry, I just don't like the idea of Ginn at 7 personally.

Why not? The only thing he doesn't possess that will make him an elite WR someday is size. Otherwise he a WR's version of Reggie Bush... he a play-maker and would be a great addition to the offense and provide a great weapon for Tarvaris Jackson...
The only thing that makes that a tough decision is that in the mock, Gaines Adams is still available at pick 7. We need to add a pass rusher and Gaines would be a great fit here, imo.

DJ, GREAT second rounder for the Vikes. Knowing we could land another solid receiver in the second, maybe you should give us Gaines Adams in the first...

You pretty much answered your own question in your next post, this draft is loaded at WR, and there are a lot of guys who will more than likely make it to our 2nd rounder, IMO, the only reciever worth it at the 7th pick is Calvin Johnson, and we'll never get him unless we move up, which would take way too much to do probably.
If the draft went that way, I'd like us to take a good look at Branch, after all we have nobody behind the Williams pair, and Pat isn't going to go on forever, also, if Landry is as good as everyone is saying he is, he sounds like someone who could easily take over from Sharper when the time comes.
Ginn may be a playmaker, but we reached for a WR 2 years ago, I personally don't want to see us make the same mistake this time round.

I'm not a big fan of the pick considering all the money Dallas has put into the OL over the last month (Signing Leonard Davis, resigning Andre Gurode and Columbo) Dallas is also very high on their young backup's McQuistan and Proctor. Not to mention spending a number 1 on a player who likely will not see the field at all in his first year or two does not sit well with me. Jerry has said time and again this off season that Dallas will draft BAP and not for need but the 1st round pick will be expected to take the field. I know he kind of contradicts himself but I understand what he is getting at.
As much as I would despise the selection of Dwayne Jarrett I can't see Dallas passing on him and there is no way Anthony Spencer gets past Dallas, they are very high on him and had a chance to run him thru drills at Purdue's Pro Day

Also, concerning NE. If anyone is looking for a surprise in round 1 watch NE and Brown LB Zak DeOssie. I was kind of floored when I spoke to Chad McKanon who is a scout for NE and he told me DeOssie is fringe 1st round prospect that more teams are penciling in as a first round prospect. The Patriots are very high on him.
