the team that takes him needs to have the luxury of having him watch for a year or two.....seriously overrated...as much as players are grilled for having slow 40 times and dropping this is an example of a player who will see his stock rise through the roof and it's a shame...there are better defensive tackles in this class.

yeah you never liked okoye

i dont know. he looked pretty good at the senior bowl in the 1on1's. showed some nice moves to rush the passer. i think he would look great in a tampa 2 defense (chicago, indy). but the same thing happened with pat willis though. willis was a mid to late 1st round pick, then he runs a great 40 and all of a sudden hes considered a top 5-10 pick. beason on the other hand runs a "slow" 40 and hes not even a 1st round pick anymore in most mock drafts

Beason and Timmons should never have been considered first rounders.....

Okoye makes a lot of great plays.....just too many lackluster ones for me as well...

Willis has always been my top linebacker...he should be top 15 no doubt.

His age has to be a huge plus as well. He's already nearly as good as anyone else in the draft and he's not even 20 yet. Of course, its also possible he may not improve at all for whatever reason.

I was thinking something along those lines...it's hard to tell that just because he's 19 now, he's got an "unlimited ceiling" or he's "the next Warren Sapp" as some of the draft guys are thinking. Don't get me wrong, it's a hell of an accomplishment to be in the league that young, and he'll likely be getting an extra fat paycheck b/c his rookie contract will run out when he's only 24...but it's dangerous to overrate him based on that age now. Whoever signs him should care less about that, because chances are he'll be hitting his prime in his 2nd contract, not his first.

Should he really be a top 12 pick this year?

Answer is no...also to say he is almost as good as the other DT's...I wouldn't go that far.....but he is extremely fortunate that a number of talented underclassmen at DT didn't turn pro this year....Next years class with Frank Okam, Andre Fluellen, Glen Dorsey, DeMario Pressley, Keilen ****s, Sedrick Ellis and BJ Raji etc etc..... that class should blow this class out of the water! I feel if more underclassmen other than just Alan Branch would have declared it would be a different story for Okoye.

I wish the best for Okoye....his story is great and inspirational...but being an inspiration doesn't make you a great football player.....all I am saying is in this case to me...the risk outweighs the reward.

If he is able to put those measurable together though, he would be a force in the NFL. He seems to have the work ethic and he probably still hasn't filled out completely. I would think the reward is a perrenial all-pro defensive tackle. There are a lot of teams that'll risk a lot for that type of reward.
