For some reason if anyone ever disses Hunter Hillenmeyer I flip out. I'm pretty sure I'll defend him till the day I die.
Hunter Hillenmeyer may be average but he has no glaring weaknesses other than needing to be around the action more.

I really don't get why people dis Hillenmeyer so much either. He's not a Pro Bowler but he'd be starting for most other teams in the NFL.

1) Mel Kiper is a moron. His scouting report is off
2) Landry can play either saftey positions in the NFL
Landry will start at FS, AA at SS. D. Manning willl move to backup corner/FS and likely willl take over when Vasher leaves.(since they can't resing both Tillman and Vash)

If Mike Brown is there, he plays. He is the best player in the entire secondary.

I'll forget for a second you just said a guy who makes more money scouting college players than you could imagine is wrong and you are right.
Even if Landry can go to FS, what if Mike Brown is healthy? I mean we would have unreal depth at CB and S, but our LB's and OLine would be left totally neglected.

peanut i totally agree with this. landry is a stud, but it just doesn't make sense to take him with much more pressing needs at OLB, OT and weapons on offense.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Gobears81 @ Mar 28th ) </div> so we wait until the third round to draft an OL or WR/RB? pushing the balance of those remaining needs to day 2? no thanks.

i don't think the trade is going to happen...but to play along, i would think the bears would target staley.
i have this sneaking suspicion that the bears are going to be drafting heavy on offense this year, with the lone exception being OLB. rex/griese need more weapons. sidney rice in round 2? brandon jackson in round 3?

OK, lets say we trade down to #14. That dropoff is equivalent to the 40th Overall pick, at the high end of the 2nd Round. That means we are left here with #14, #37, ~#40 and #95
You go Staley with #14, Rufus Alexander with #37, Antonio Pittman at #40 and then at #95 we take Gonzalez, Steve Smith or Jason Hill to help the WR's. I gotta say, that'd be pretty sweet and its actually feasible.

If we trade Briggs, we essentially are adding OLB to the top of the needs list (right behind OLine), but also allowing ourselves to gain another 1st Day pick or get an absolute stud player.

that would be pretty darn sweet if that came to fruition.
it makes 0 sense to me for the bears to stay at #6 if the trade happens, and a trade down would open up so many possibilities. what about greg olsen at #14 and ugoh at 37?
