Thanks for the comments, this is the first addition of the 7 round mock and obviously after trades and signings things will change. Yes, when looking individually at your team, I know a lot of things one might not agree with. However, after frying my brain creating this in the first place, there are some doubles of course. Hard to keep track of what players are in the draft, team needs, trades etc. Don't even get me starting with forgetting a player than having to positionally bump back all the LBs for example. I do not expect everyone to agree, it is just an idea of what could happen come draft day.
As for the comments....
For the Cowboys picks, I have never read anything on who they are looking for, I just think they all fit pretty well.

you must really hate the ravens. our single biggest need is an OT and we don't address it AT ALL? but we manage to draft no less than three DE/OLBs?[/b]
|
Yanda can play OT or OG I believe, and their are not that many good OTs in this draft, sorry to say. Also Ryan Harris, he can play OT as well fyi...
And I think it is totally legit that they try to get a DE for the 3/4 in Jay Richardson, then two prospect outside pass rushers to try to replace A. Thomas, which will not be that easy to accomplish. Thus getting a few players to potentially pick up where he left off is a good idea IMO.

The Chargers have two stud OLB's, yet you have us selecting OLB's in the 2nd and 3rd...maybe an MLB, but not OLB...[/b]
|
Beason could play inside potentially, Tim Shaw also has experience at ILB, but will probably be asked to play OLB as a down pass rusher since he has played DE also, that is why he is so appealing. Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t they lose D. Edwards and Steve Foley? Edwards will really be missed and I think linebacker is an area to improve on for them. Sure Phillips and Merriman are there but one always can have depth at that position. Maybe one to many though in this draft, I agree with you there a little.

My remote would be in a milion pieces and the tv out the window if thyat was the Giants draft. Good effort, but you completely missed with the Giants[/b]

Well OT is an obvious need and Staley would be a great pickup for them after what they have lost in Whitfield and others. I have Hill going 2nd round because they were is major trouble when Toomer went down last year. Yes they need a CB that can actually play, but fixing that OL is very important I feel.

I like absolutely NONE of the Browns' picks. Quinn will be a bust, and while Savage seems to be interested, I trust in his judgement as a scout. If he does decide to go with Quinn, i'm all for firing him. And i'm dead serious. None of the players selected afterwards fit neither needs OR our schemes. TE? We've got a few good ones. DT? 350+ only. S? Why take a saftely so early when we've got two young starters who have shown too much upside? Sorry, but this is the worst mock for the Browns i've seen yet. By
far.[/b]

Brady Quinn = local kid, and honestly he is better than Charlie Frye.
Brian Robison = most athletic 3/4 OLB prospect in the draft, they would be lucky to get him
Josh Gattis = I really like him as a safety, but yes I forgot that they do have Pool and Jones so you are right there.
Derek Landri = he is a DE in a 3/4 defense in my book, thus they could use him.
Steve Breaston = Northcutt is gone so they need a proven return man, and Breaston can certainly do that.
Bill Latsko = T. Smith is gone at fullback, now unless they have another one in the wings Latsko would be a great pickup for them.
Matt Herian = gamble pick I think is worth taking, but yeah they could go another way with it.

i'm sure it's hard to know all teams needs, but the bears have glaring first day needs on their o-line. as much as i like brandon meriweather, the bears will not take a guy with a checkered past that includes gun charges in the wake of the tank johnson debacle. furthermore they traded for archuleta, so i don't see that as a first day, let alone first round need.
bears needs in my order: OT, OLB, RB, WR, TE, S, OG[/b]
|
Meriweather = Without Mike Brown last year they were not the same, this is insurance from that happening again. That Archuleta trade happened after I made this, so yeah that changes things obviously. However, I think Archuleta sucks so they might need a real safety eventually.
A. Pittman = Benson is not the answer, period, he cannot be an every down back thus they need another one. If not they will miss Thomas Jones a lot more than they might realize.
A. Barnes = is a nice pickup, especially if Briggs does not stay put.
Chris Davis = can never have to many fast athletic playmakers at WR
Ndukwe = could go another direction, I admit that but he is a solid player with some potential.
Corey Hilliard = I think a OL late is all they really need.
Antonio Smith = can never have to many solid corners, Smith is smart and moderately raw still, he can be get a lot better.
I think the Bears OL is not that big of an issue. Sure Brown might retired but he can still
play. Tait is sound, so is Garza and Fred Miller is solid also. I think they have other needs
and unless Staley, Blalock or Brown drop no other OG or OT is worth taking that high
IMO.
It is all about what player ones likes, and typically I put players in a certain position that I like. If you don't like Stewart Bradley for example, or know who he is, then obviously one will think that is a crappy pick. And anyone can make such comments, and feel free to do so.
