Yesterday, I saw a chat with Matt Williamson of Scouts, Inc.. In this chat, Williamson envisioned a trade thought between the Vikings and Packers which, if implemented, "could help both teams". Williamson's idea is as follows:
1. Minnesota trades its first-round pick to Green Bay.
2. In return, Green Bay gives Minnesota its first and second-round draft picks, plus KGB.
This trade idea sounds OK to me. It would give Minnesota the pass-russing DE it needs, and would allow the Vikings to draft a WR with mid-first round value (perhaps Ginn, Jarrett, or Meachem). The Packers would then have a shot at getting Adrian Peterson (if he falls to #7), Greg Olsen, or another high-caliear draft pick of their choice. Last year, the Packers did quite well in the first round with A.J. Hawk.
Any thoughts on this trade idea?

Giving the Packers AP would be suicide if he's there at #7

Personally I don't see it happening, like Vectore said, division rivals don't generally trade with each other.
If Peterson was there at 7, I'd be seriously pissed if we had traded back, add in the fact that Childress is already on a bit of a short leash, trading with the Pack wouldn't be the best move he could pull at the present moment really.

No thanks.
Like many people mentioned, division foes usually don't trade with each other. And TT usually doesn't lose himself draft picks.

Yeah, it's not so much even the division thing IMO, but that TT loves his draft picks...I think if he had to choose between family and his draft picks....he'd hesitate, and then take the picks.

The Pack would be looking to take AP in this situation, and while our run-D can hold its own against some of the best, I'd much rather see Peterson scoring TD's for the purple next year.

Yeah you're right, it'd be for AP if it ever happens. I think we'll both be relieved at this not happening though. We're safe!

blah... moving up and getting AP sounds good, but our 1st, 2nd and KGB is giving up too much when we desperetaly need all our picks this year.
