It's gonna take me a while to absorb WR's in the 1st and 2nd round. I like the Allison pick, and Ginn is obviously hit or miss...

Can't believe I have them with no defensive picks...just the way it worked out.

I love defense, but I'm almost cool standing pat with the way the D came together late last year. Almost. So that's not a huge issue... it just seems a really risky draft. Ginn and Bush.

Interesting draft for the Lions....didnt fill the most important needs but what position isnt a need for the Lions really
1. Gaines Adams- I like him and would be very happy but I want Willis as well....would be happy with either one but you say Carriker is you top DE over Adams why is that?
2. Marshawn Lynch- RB is not really a need for the Lions but he does seem to be sliding but hes an intriging pick for the Lions cause he has a lot of talent but do you know if he fits into Martz's offense?
3. Trent Edwards- QB of the future is something we desperately need and I have heard many contrasting reports about him. What are your thoughts on Edwards DJ?

I don't mind Carriker, would much rather have Willis since he's there, but that's fine. But Woodley in the 2nd I disagree with. Drafting Lawson last year, and signing Banta-Cain this off-season, we are set at OLB starter wise. Drafting Woodley would just be for depth, but that's too early. We should be drafting a WR in the 2nd round. Davis is fine, but he isnt a true #1, which we need. If David Harris falls that far, I would love to take him if we get Carriker with our first pick.
But overall, good draft, not my favorite for 49ers, but I understand it.
Nice work DJ

DJ, don't be surprised to see a Texans trade-down in the first, but I agree with your pick at #10 considering who's off the board.
In regards to our 3rd round pick, I don't see us picking up a RB until day two, if at all. We have several needs, and honestly, RB really isn't one of them. Green may be a short term solution, but we also have Dayne sharing some carries with him, and he proved to be more than adequate when healthy (he was hurt through most of the first half of the season). Chris Taylor/Wali Lundy/Samkon Gado will battle it out for the 3rd/possibly 4th string, and I don't think we're going to take another RB in the 3rd round when we only have 2 first day picks to begin with. Look for us to go WR/CB/DE/FS in the 3rd (in that order) if Brown is indeed our pick at #10.

1. To me Carriker is just the most complete d-end....it is miniscule as far as who is better between he Adams and Anderson.
2. Offense at Cal has similarities to what Martz does...I'm not as high on Lynch and his receiving ability but I could see martz doing something like this.
3. Edwards in terms of pure talent is right there with Quinn and Russell.....just played for the doormat of the PAC-10 and can't stay healthy...therefore he is a risky pick.

yeah...that second pick was hard to decide for me......49ers are being very tight lipped right now.....almost too tight lipped.

BOWE AND BLALOCK WOULD DEFINITELY WORK FOR ME. I THINK THEY WOULD TAKE GRUBBS OVER BLALOCK THOUGH.
