I mean I see where Briggs is coming from but he needs to understand that they cant make a deal this year because of cap issues Im assuming? I just dont think its a fair deal. The redskins get a pro bowler plus they still get a pick in the 1st round and get a quality player. The Bears get #6 which so far isnt a big commodity this year.

IMO its better than nothing. But I doubt the Bears settle for the Redskins initial offer, the Redskins seem as determined in getting rid of #6 as the Bears are getting rid of Briggs.

I would also like to add that if Briggs comes to this area (DC, I live here) then guys like me and Lost have to hear the ****ing hype machine of how great the skins will be. The upside is that we can laugh at them when the hype is dead.

there are probably about 75 pages of threads you can get the full scoop about, but here's the cliff notes version:

it has nothing to do with the bears not having cap room. the bears offered briggs a $33M deal w/ 16M guaranteed last march, briggs turned it down. the bears told him if they couldn't reach a deal before last season they'd franchise tag him. they did, and here we are.

I dont get why the **** he didnt take the deal last year. I guess 33 mil with 16 mil guaranteed wasnt enough money for him.
