Um... We have more depth now than we've had in a LONG time. You have no clue what you are talking about.
We have two Pro Bowl starting Corners and a third in Shawnte Spencer who is a very good up and coming corner. Last year we had SAMMY DAVIS starting at corner half the time and still won 7 games.
Same thing with the safeties. The guys that started and played well down the stretch are now backups.
Same with the Oline. Our Oline is 2 deep, stacked almost all the way across. We almost traded Smiley who could start for anyone because of the depth and his contract status after this season.
The LB's are the deepest since JP's rookie year.
Our 2, 3, and 4th WR's from last year will be our 4th, 5th, and 6th this year with one or two of them lucky to make the team.
We have a superbowl winning QB with experience in Dilfer backing up Alex Smith...
We have the 3rd or 4th best RB in the NFL, his backup was a beast when he got playing time last year, seemingly got a steal in Clayton and have Hicks who has done pretty well for us as the 4th RB and he might not even make the team because of the depth.
You need to stop talking.

So you really think that Walt Harris wasn't just having a career year last year? You feel that you have good depth on that offensive line? I don't see much depth on that line and Harris was playing out of his mind last year but I can't see him repeating that type of performance. Also having 3 solid corners is basically required in the NFL now because of the fact that the ball is getting thrown all over the place, the question is do you have anyone that you are comfortable with stepping in if one of those guys gets hurt. Getting Dilfer was great move for the fact that he can teach Alex Smith but I wouldn't be lauding him as great depth because at this point in his career he provides about as much depth as Testaverde gave us last year. Most teams don't have good depth at QB and both the Patriots and 9ers are among those teams. Like I said I like the Dilfer move for the teaching aspect though. Gore is absolutely the 3rd or 4th best back in the NFL, as I have mentioned in past posts my concern with him would be durability with his long history of injuries including some serious ones.
