If he's healthy the fumbling should take care of itself. I haven't followed up but I assume the wrist surgery on one (or both?) went well. That hit he took against Louisville left him with no feeling and forced him to carry with his off-hand the rest of the season. Wasn't able to keep the ball toward the sideline or stiffarm / balance for that matter either. Don't know how much Noel Devine will cut into his workload however.

Yeah but he had fumbling problems before that game....he has always been a fumbler...great speed and has improved as a receiver...I think he is a 1st round pick if he comes out this year. I just see a lot of bust potential as well with him.

It is a terrible argument to use for a guy that is tough runner, that is durable and has already proven skeptics wrong before (going from high school to college).

How many starting every down running backs are there in the NFL that are his size and have 4 years of work on them like Mike?

He didn't have that many 'skeptics' going into college. He had the most rushing touchdowns in high school history, and plenty of college backs are smaller that have great careers.

It's a good thing DM's coming out next year, because the 08 senior class looks terrible. I imagine some of those other juniors' advisers are going to see that and tell them to enter a year early to cash in as well.

He was a 3 star prospect because no one thought he could handle college football.

Blah Blah Blah. They say that for every small back.

Yeah I was gonna say....how many times does this have to be proven faulty logic before people stop writing off RB's because of a measuring tape. Clinton portis, anyone?

I don't think Devine will have a huge impact (taking carries wise, not stats wise...I'm a huge Devine fan). They run the ball so much, it will only help Steve.

How can you be a fan of that piece of dog ****.....

Portis is 2 inches taller and almost 20 pounds heavier.
Plus Portis played in Denver's system, and has gotten significantly worse since his first 2 seasons because of injuries...fragility, anyone?
