I also think that the fans should give the "Leave while you're on top" and "Respect the rep of Bret Favre" stuff a rest (in terms of why he should retire).

Favre wants to play the game and I actually think it's to his credit that he continues playing. You don't think more than one person close to him has said those things to him? He hears it. However, he doesn't seem to care about all the post-career stuff and how folks will write about his departure.

He's been playing the game nearly his entire life. It's not quite the same in terms of time spent, but I served in the military for 12 years before I was forced to leave (medical reasons). I fought like hell to stay in and still wish I could serve in some capacity. Not for individual accolades. Not for the money (make far more as a civilian). Because I loved my job and loved the guys I worked with. If he quits now, it will probably eat at him more than give him peace.

If you land your dream job - you do it for as long as you can. In my case, we're still well served by the guy(s) who replaced me and I may be for the better since leaving. For Favre, the Packers will not get any better and he will leave feeling like he could still contribute.

Let the guy play. Suffer through the nauseating biographies and weepy tales the media will shove down our throats (not his doing, by the way). And when he hangs em up, wish him well and look for the next gritty, never-say-die gunslinger to unfairly make comparisons to Favre.

Favre is one of the better QBs in the league and you are calling me stupid!!!!

I would take Carr, Kitna, and Grossman over Favre next year...

so you named three QBs...if it is so simple then name three more...I will give you Johnson as well.

I can also tell by your tone that you have a bigger man crush on the interception king than Madden does...he sucks now, get over it....he threw 18 ints and that is considered good for him...how could you possiblly say that Favre is one of the better QBs in the league right now?!?!?!?!

I wouldn't put Favre as one of the best or worst.

At this point, he's average. It's just that since he can't play like he used to play, he looks terrible. Still, he's about average for the league.

Which stats, or did you just ignore my whole post earlier on his stats.

The one that points out why he will be the leader in Ints for a career. Or do u purposely ignore them when you have nothing to say.

i don't care what you said earlier...his stats sucked

NFL.com - NFL Stats

the only decent stat he has is passing yards and that is misleading because Kitna is top 5...it means you are always losing and are forced to pass the ball alot...

he has 18 ints...top 5 in the league
he has the 5th worst passer rating in the NFL...
he has 18 TDs...below NFL average

THOSE STATS ARE AWFUL...PLAIN AND SIMPLE

but somehow you will find a way to tell me how they are all over-rated or shouldn't count because of blah blah blah

The reason you dont care is because you have a habit of disappearing when you can counter agrue with someone. Just like when Dallas was losing you disappeared and came up with stories of why.

Anyways what i said once again is you basically use the qb rating as your source when it comes to stats. The guy was 6th in yards, and 16th in td passing. But all you say is he threw 18 ints and his rating is low, well no ****. Have you ever watched a game? Ints go into qb ratings a lot. Like i also said before it doesnt take into account other variables like sacks and fumbles, where Brett Favre is great. Hes one of the least sacked qbs and also takes care of the ball. The only stat where he is in the bottom five is Ints, where he is tied for fifth worst. His qb rating also isnt in the bottom five. But go ahead and continue to say he is one of the fifth worth qbs in the league. In fact id invite you to go register with other websites and say Favre is one of the worst five qbs in the league. And just like when you stated that cheeseheads would be pissed about him coming back, you will be wrong again.

6th in passing yards...yeah i said that...that means his team is always down and he is forced to pass the ball alot...Kitna is top 5 in passing yards as well

16th in passing TDs...that is below league average and with all those amazing passing yards it should be much higher

he never gets sacked?...THEN WHY THE HELL DO HIS STATS SUCK SO BAD???...if he is sacked so little that would lead me to believe he has a pretty good o-line...he should have great stats since he is such a great QB...right?
