Default Favre will play in 2007

The Green Bay Packers won't have to wait until the start of free agency again to learn the future of their star quarterback.

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has decided to return to the team in 2007 and told team brass of his decision earlier today, sources close to Favre told FOXSports.com.
Favre himself ascertained as much in an interview with the Biloxi Sun Herald.
"I am so excited about coming back," Favre told the newspaper. "We have a good nucleus of young players. We were 8-8 last year and that's encouraging."

I felt the same way during the whole season. I changed my mind when Farve help destroy the Bears late in the season. He help put on a masterful display from GreenBay that I haven't seen from them in a long time!

I honestly dont see why people have a problem with this dude wanting to play. Its his career, If he wants to play 3 more seasons, let him.

Thats awesome, he found a way to use the word nucleus in a sentence without reffering to science. Its also cool that he is comimg back. Live to fight another day.

*off topic but still on the subject of retirement*

I was thinking how things would be when Madden eventually retires. I can see him sitting in an old folks home quietly rocking back and forth mumbling to himself as he looks out the window. "You see, what you want to do here is get the first down. Worry about the touchdown after you get the first"

its not that i really want to see this guy leave the game, but with every bad performance he is bringing down his reputation of the clutch player he use to be, new people didn't get a chance to see what he did in the prime of his career. he was one of the best. he needs to be remembered for what he did and not for what he is doing

Wow. Aaron Rogers must really not be ready to play or may never be.

Wasn't he a Tedford QB?

I gotta think that if the Packers thought Rodgers was ready or worth the growing pains, they'd push Favre out the door. Their lack of commitment may indicate that they saw enough of him. I'm almost positive he came form one of those "qb systems" that makes fans think the guy can play in the NFL.

I just checked and Rodgers is one of those "Tedford QBs."

Some other notables:

Dave Carr
Kyle Boller
Joey Harrington
Trant Dilfer
Akili Smith
Billy Volek
