Sports Analysts
Do you think they even know what they are even talking about anymore?
I don't think they do, because more often than not what they say is going to happen isn't going to happen. Take the Cowboys for instance, all of these analysts predicted that they would stomp all over the Vikings in the divisional round. I expected the opposite, and I think that was the general consensus among fans. The Cowboys got destroyed in that game. Analysts are down one.
Or during the Super Bowl, right before Manning threw that interception Simms said the Saints should not blitz, he said they should drop back into coverage. I already made my opinion clear on that before the game and I think the consensus among fans was that playing coverage against Manning does not work. The Saints blitzed with six guys and forced a hurried throw by Manning, BOOM! pick six game over. Analysts down two.
I don't remember the game now but during the reg. season there was an analyst that said he had never heard of the rule that a receiver needs to maintain control of the ball when going out of bounds after making catch. How can you be an analyst and not know that rule? He was dumbfounded when the play was overturned because the receiver didn't maintain control of the ball. Analysts down three.
If anybody watches the FOX pregame show you would know that if all of those guys pick the same team to win a certain game, you pick the other team. It never fails. Analysts down four.
I think they are out of touch with the game. They have access to the news stories, the stats, the rumors, inside information, but they are getting way to caught up in all of it and they aren't giving out an accurate analysis anymore. I find it much better to listen to the fans than to listen to an analyst because nine times out of ten the fans are right.
