Seeing some of these interviews really puts me to sleep, becuase players just never answer the questions...

here's one from a few days back with Jim Rome interviewing Willie Mcginist (sp?) it went something like this...

Rome.. "You guys are above .500 but everyone knows thats below your expectations, how frustrating has this been for you?"

Willie.."Ya its been frustrating but you know, whenever we fall down we just have to get right back up."

Rome.."Well, all of the injuries to the team is really hurting at this point in the season, how are you guys dealing with those?"

Willie.. "Well, we've had injuries, but when a player goes down, the next man just has to step up and do his part."

Rome.."Im sure that the next player will step up, but you cant replace key players like Rodney Harrison, aren't you missing his leadership on the field?"

Willie.."You certainly dont want to lose a guy like Rodney, but when a player goes down the next man just has to step up and play."

Rome.. "Well, Bilechick has always been knows to use many different schemes on defense, will we see some new ones next week?"

Willie.." Coach doesnt really concentrate on that stuff, its just when a player goes down the next man has to step up and do his part."

Rome.. "The colts seem to have finnnally beaten you guys, would you say this was a more important win for them or you?"

Willie.."Well, no game is more important than the other, we just concentrate on next week"

Rome.."What are some of the must win games for you guys coming up this season?"

Willie.."Every game is a key game, we just concentrate on next week."


(Btw, im not really point out Mcginist, almost every player that gets interviewed nowadays never answers questions.)
You get the basic idea.. the players seem to not really answer any questions nowadays, they just give these general answers that you can apply to just about anything. A whole lot of talking is done, but nothing is really said. It almost justifies TO's words at times, becuase even though what he says is completely dumb, atleast he speaks his mind and is honest. I know it is usually better to remain humble, but sometimes just answering a simple question doesnt hurt either.

Most player interviews are stupid, but the reporters are searching for the player that will make TO or Randy-like comments about their team, hc, or organization.

"Which cheerleader do you think has the nicest ***"
"What is your favorite color"

random **** like that

True... It isn't really the players who make the interviews boring, it's the douchebags asking the questions. I'm more interested in Ladanian Tomlinson's favorite book than I am interested in how he felt after running a brazillion yards against the Raiders. What can he even say to the latter question? "It... Felt... Like every other game... One game at a time. They're a good team, and we can't overlook them when we play them again."

There just isn't much to do with a ****ty question.
