NFL | League looking to extend deadline again

ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports the NFL is looking to ask NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw for another extension to the start of free agency. The free agency period is currently set to start at 12:01 a.m. Friday, March 10. The league is asking for a 24-hour delay to push the start back to 12:01 a.m. Saturday, March 11.

teams all have plans for what theyd do if there was a new CBA, so I dont see what the delay is. They've got plenty of time to re-sign who they're gonna re-sign if we wait til friday.

It gives teams and agents a chance to review the new CBA. That way they know how to structure contracts.

It's not really about re-signing players.

Teams need to gifure out the different rules the CBA has. Some of the owners still dont know what they even voted for, much less how much $$$ they will have.
