Young gives draft-day jersey to fan with Hodgkin's
Associated Press
5/4/2006

HEMPSTEAD, Texas -- New Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young didn't hold onto his draft day jersey for long. He's passed it on to a 12-year-old fan with Hodgkin's Disease.

Young responded Wednesday to a request from Houston Texans linebacker coach Johnny Holland to visit with Archie Taylor Jr. Archie was diagnosed with the lymphatic cancer in December.

Young, who led the Longhorns to a win over Southern California in January's national championship game, autographed the jersey and called the meeting a "blessing."

"To see him smile right now, that's very exciting for me," he told Houston television station KRIV.

Archie, who vowed to root for the Titans when they play the Texans, said he had a great day.

"It means a lot to me," he said. "I like his skills and how he plays. I like his friendship."

Hempstead is about 50 miles northwest of Houston.

beats the hundred bucks he was charging for an autograph BEFORE he was drafted.

Gee..I wonder why the change of heart.. could it be because Bud "the devil" Adams is catering to the Houston fans? Ever wonder why the owner of the Titans is in Houston with Vince Young, just kinda...walkin around...talking with the media. Seem strange to you?

mmmhm. he wants our god damn fans.. he only drafted VY because he thought it might improve his jersey sales in the Houston area. And because hes a **********. He probably paid Vince a few thousand under the table to give that Jersey away.

Bitter much?

Jesus, it's been a decade - get over it! You have an NFL franchise with a fancy new stadium. Louisville, LA, San Antonio, and every other city without an NFL team would kill for that.

Yet, you still whine and cry like little ****ing spoiled *****es over the Oilers who haven't existed for 10 years. McNair is the only player remaining from the old Houston days and he's gone pretty soon. What the hell are you hanging on to? Bud Adams? Just the Oiler name? Floyd? Get the **** over it.

What? You want the Oiler history back? Take it. God knows we as Titan fans aren't proud of it. The Comeback, Warren Moon's demise, The constant under achieving, 1994-1995 (OUCH!)...

Bottom line: The Titans are the Titans, they've been in Tennessee for a decade. Vince Young, he's a Titan and he will be for a long, long time. The Oilers do not exist any more. It's over.

Go cheer for your Texans and stop worrying about my team.

lol.. go suck a dick asshat

At what point in my post did I sound like I missed the Titans? Was it when I wondered what the **** your owner was doing in my city? or was it when I called him a ********** and said he was trying to steal MY fans.

You can keep your powderblue fudge packers .. wouldnt take em back if they were free. Already have a better team in Houston :P. And if he hasnt done it already.. Bud Adams IS gonna bend your city over a chair and have his way with it.. thats just how he rolls.

so..yah.. eat a dick.
