And he would have been too. had he not been injured in preseason, I feel he would have won that starting job over BB and been just as productive, if not more so with consistency than BB himself. As your remember BB was scheduled to be out 4 weeks and newly healthy Bradley came in to sub for him and logged 2 straight 4 catch 80 yard 1 TD performances in a row,. Suddenly BB's ankle healed a whole lot quicker...lol.
the key to picking a breakout reciever is as much opportunity as it is ability, An opening in an offense that has a blossoming QB with an established/albeit aging posession WR on the other side that most mags will pick to be the "go-to" guy even though the true researchers know the aging possession guy will serve best as the complimentary receiver should the young burner with upside fuflfill his potential is the ideal breeding ground for the "breakout" WR.
Everyone had Tim Brown over Jerry Porter when I picked him in 2002
Everyone had Westbrook rated over Chad Johnson when I picked him in 2003
OK, so Tyrone Calico left me ith egg on my face in 2005,
but Bradley would have been B if not better had he not been injured in preseason.
Vincent Jackson is in same situation as Bradley. Young reciever with tremendous upside, young blossoming QB, opening at Number 1 reciever, aging vet to play possession guy on other side, good offense overall.
He's in a prim spot to explode and as he started the last couple games of 2006, he's already got the job more or less. oh yeah...3rd year too.
