Bill (PDX): Any word on where some of the Free Agents may end up - say Deilman, Steinbach, Clements for example?

SportsNation Jeremy Green: (4:31 PM ET ) These are my best predictions on my top 4 available. Dielman - San Diego. Steinbach - Cleveland. A. Thomas - San Francisco. Clements - San Francisco.[/b]
I know it's just one dudes opinion.... but the fact that anyone thinks the Niners are going to get players like that was completely foreign a year ago...

I think Thomas has said he wants to play for a playoff team... not that it automatically disqualifies SF, they're close, but it could make him lean towards the Pats as well. Then again he also said he wants to play in warm weather

I could see Thomas playing for SF because Nolan is there. And they run the 3-4 which I feel Thomas is better suited for.

Good news for San Fran, all those big FA signings sure worked for the Redskins.

If we cut Springs which is rumored, we will make a hard run at Clements and usu. what Danny wants Danny gets.

The thing is that the Niners are drafting talent and developing it well. These FAs might well push them over the top (every team that needs a CB or LB would want Clements and Thomas) so it is good news for San Fran. The offense seems to be coming together, what with Frank Gore busting out and Alex Smith coming along nicely...

The worst thing San Francisco could do is go on a spending spree, sign Adalius Thomas and wait until the draft. You get a guy who can play at an All Pro level now and get some guys who you could build long term for. Thers no reason to lower the security of the very good young players you have now for some old overrated overpriced Free Agents.

I only really want Thomas anyway, there are plenty of good secondary players in this draft we can get in the 2nd-3rd round.
