Now B4 I get into WTF is going on with Adam Vinatieri basically choking on not one but two game winning Field Goals, I'd first like to say in the less than glamorous world of NFL Kickers, Cinn. Bengal Shayne Graham's Star shinned the brightest of all yesterday, basically winning the game all by himself.
For those who might not have caught this, the Bengals beat the Ravens 21-7, by way of two second quarter field goals, one third quarter field goal and get this, four fourth quarter field goals. Amazing is the only word us Fans would come up with however as a Professional NFL Kicker, he should receive nothing more than a "Good Job" from those whom employ him. Why? Well not for nothing, that's what he gets paid to do and a helluva lot of pay it is for that matter. So why then when the game is on the line and you have a chance to knock out the only other unbeaten Team in the League (NE Patriots), you lose your nerve or whatever it is that Kickers lose when they blow kicks that they usually make in their sleep?
So ok, we put that game behind us and then here we are against the SD Chargers, who fought hard to win against the Almighty Colts and what happens, oh yeah, that guy Adam Vinatieri still couldn't find his nerve from last week that he probably left at home or something.
So in conclusion, had Mr.Adam Vinatieri, made those two grande huge game winning field goals, the Colts, not the Pats would be the only unbeaten Team in the League as of today. Well this just goes to show, it's probably not a wise move to place your Team in a position to depend on Kickers because as my Dallas Cowboys discovered last Season, even those who are touted as the "Most Accurate Kicker in the League", it don't mean a thing when the whistle blows.
Niel Rackers, I have to admit, was a good kicker until last season. Now, he's just a walking "missed FG." Ugh. I hope the Cards bring in competition in the off-season for him.
Yes let me tell you this season has taught me that having a clutch kicker and a disciplined special teams unit is essential. you can bet my friends who are Colts fans have heard nothing but Jason Elam could have made that kick

Peyton Manning
McNair kept putting the ball on the ground against cincy and the offense couldn't score TD's, not exactly grahams doing, but he made the kicks, what about bironas kicking 8 last week, now that's a kicker
I'm trying to figure out what "game winning" field goal you are talking about that Vinatieri missed against the Patriots. One, the Pats won by 4 points, so a fieldgoal wouldn't have done any good. Two, I think the fumble towards the end prevented such an attempt anyway. Three, he missed one fieldgoal for 50 yards, and that was at the beginning of the game... not sure if your trying to say that was the difference between a win and loss for the Colts. Vinatieri has never been dependable outside of 50 yards though anyway, so it certainly wasn't a kick that he usually makes in his sleep.
The Colts had a 10 point lead almost half way through the 4th quarter... they can't blame their clutch kicker on that one. Now the SD game, okay, Mr. Clutch wasn't very clutch there... but then again, you throw into 6 interceptions in one game, and you really shouldn't be expecting to win.

IMO Mason Crosby will break the record for longest field goal. This guy hits 50-55 yarders for fun and one of his 55 yarders would have been good from 60+ imo.

Hope that 60 yarders don't start becoming regular. They'll have to make a new category in fantasy football for them... Lol.
