Falcons release almost entire team
Quote:
The Atlanta Falcons released seven players Friday afternoon including popular veteran tight end Alge Crumpler.
Crumpler was a 7-year veteran, 4-time Pro Bowler, from North Carolina, drafted in the second round in 2001. He had 316 receptions for 4,212 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Knee injuries limited Crumpler to 10 starts, 14 games played this past season.
Defensive tackle Rod Coleman, left tackle Wayne Gandy, quarterback Byron Leftwich, cornerback Lewis Sanders, linebacker Marcus Wilkins and wide receiver Jamin Elliott were the other players released by the Falcons after what was for many a long, injury-prone season.

New Orleans is where you want to be Crumps... you can beat ATL down twice a year and punish them for releasing you.

I do not think so I saw some tape of him and he just not have the speed for it. Plus after his time with the Flacons if you told him to go sack something it would cause him to have some sort of flash back and he would just drop to the floor screaming something about a back side blitz.

Hmmm.. gotta wonder how that knee is... there's a lot of places he could go to... just depends what he's looking for and how his knee is.

Johnson is the only TE in NFL history that can catch 80 passes in a year and still suck
45 catches from Crumpler >> 80 from Eric Johnson
