Bush Fails to Attend Deposition

A lawyer for Reggie Bush has asked a court to prevent a man who is suing Bush from turning over a deposition of Bush to the N.C.A.A.
The N.C.A.A. is investigating accusations that Bush violated rules governing student athletes while he was a running back at Southern California.
Bush, who now plays for the New Orleans Saints, also failed to appear at a deposition that had been scheduled for Monday.
“This was Reggie’s chance to exonerate himself,” said Brian Watkins, a lawyer for Lloyd Lake, who is suing Bush for nearly $300,000 in goods and cash that he said he lent Bush’s family while Bush played for Southern California. “I don’t know why he would have a problem with this.”
But Bush’s lawyer, William David Cornwell Sr., said Bush was never properly served, a claim Watkins denies.
