Default Browns To Offer Anderson $20 Million

With the deadline to tender restricted free agents looming, the Cleveland Browns are continuing their efforts to secure quarterback Derek Anderson with a contact extension.

The Browns' latest offer is a three-year deal worth $20 million, with $10 million guaranteed, according to the Columbus Dispatch. There are indications that an agreement could be struck Wednesday or early Thursday, according to reports in both the Dispatch and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Sounds about what he should get. He showed potential. Let's see if he can keep it going.

hes not worth a big deal....hes the most inaccurate QB ive ever seen and ive watched michael vick. he had a great line, a solid run game, and 3 huge, not big...HUGE targets to bail him out over and over again....put BQ in, hes the better QB

last i heard he turned this down cause he wants romo money

Not only do I not think he's worth Romo money, or ever will be, but he's got to prove himself.

The ProBowl showed what he really is.

Browns should trade him now, while he has value.

LOL, that's just funny! The guy was a first year starter, the 3rd or 4th youngest starter in the league, taking over a TERRIBLE team and threw for 3787 yards and 29 td's and went to the damn pro-bowl...no, he's not worth a big deal at all...in fact, they should just cut him...

To say a guy that has done and shown nothing is better is just crazy...

The only reason i said that was because he was terrible, inaccurate, and couldn't lead a team of stars against a vanilla defense. Everyone else put scores on the board and he jsut kept missing left and right.

I see your point in that sense, but I still disagree with the overall assessment of him.

How long has Cleveland been looking for a good young starting QB? They finally get one and from the looks of it (IMO anyway) a pretty damn good one. 3700+ yards and 29 Td's in your first season is pretty damn impressive. Sure there's going to be inconsistency along the way, what first year starter doesn't experience that?
