• The Eagles cheerleaders are making every effort to be environmentally friendly with their new
calendar shoot, and I think that's fantastic. You know what's more environmentally friendly than anything, though? Nudity. Just something to consider for next year.
• Stephanie Stradley breaks out a list of
athletes doing very nice things this offseason. Warrick Dunn, Osi Umenyiora, Amobi Okoye, and Adewale Ogunleye, Pacman Jones and Israel Idonije among them.
• Just kidding about Pacman. I wanted to see if you were paying attention.
• Shaun Alexander, after leaving New Orleans without a contract offer, is still talking with the Bengals. The Broncos may be in the mix, too, which would make Alexander one hell of an interesting fantasy player.
• Some interesting comments from Cowboys defensive end Greg Ellis on safety Roy Williams: "Roy told me in training camp, he said, 'Greg this defense does not fit me. I don’t fit in well with this defense at all,' " Ellis said. "Obviously, it came to be true just like he said. He doesn’t fit what’s going on here in Dallas right now. Maybe this year, if they decide to keep him for this season Wade and them would kind of adjust some things to fit him better."
• "Redskins Sign Goode, Crummey." I've have just stuck with Goode, but I guess the universe needs balance. The yin and the yang.
• Former Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers could soon be a Montreal Allouette. Alouette, gentille Alouette ... Alouette, je te plumerai.
• This isn't NFL-related, but my man JE Skeets of The Basketball Jones and another blog I like, Ball Don't Lie, has channeled Brian Scalabrine to record a LeBron James diss track. The language is not safe for work, but I think it would be worth losing your job to
listen to it.
